Chip stick to educating the CS masses, they will believe any old s**t you spout. Both diffs have there uses simple as, what you think falls into where is up to yourself. You clearly don't read my posts so on that note I'm out, had enough of Chipapedea for one day.
I'm on my phone with near dial up connection its an easy over site in 4" screen, you knew what I was trying to say which was grip.
I know exactly how the diff works, there a torque biassing diff (with straight helical gears instead of bevel) as I said and are constantly dividing the torque to...
Brake testing a plated diff car just needs both rollers running at the same time, you do get some transmission wind up though. Going by your theory on brake testers for Quaife which is correct Chip proves that there not that great. They distribute torque to the wheel with most torque so are only...
Knockhill is pretty unique in a way being that all corners are the type that will pick the wheels up but there's corners down south that are exactly the same. Brands for example.... Paddock hill - similar to the first part of Duffus dip, clip the apex and your airborne, (not John Cleland...
Not true, Duffus, Clark's and the Chicane especially your on two wheels with the power on for a reasonable length of time if your attacking, thats where a locked diff gains you time. Every kerb is cuttable that's right but the sausage kerbs are the track limits at KH even though you ride them at...
Nothing to do with suspension its just the way the land lies at KH. Yes EVERY corner as you have to be on the power before the apex of every corner.
Duffus- 4th to 3rd, settle the car and power on before the apex clipping the sausage kerb (lifting both wheels) with power on right down to...
Every corner at Knockhill except the hairpin and then you still do lift a wheel if you take the tight line.
Rubbish....your car lights the wheels up for fun (or should I say wheel) and Tonys 215bhp race car also does it as soon as it touches a kerb on the inside, he agreed when I mentioned it...
Torquing things hot is not the done thing although I do them to 110nm before I go out and then after everythings had heat through it I check them again just by feel, don't do them to 110nm again though.
I only do that due to expansion of the studs and the fact I run bolt through spacers which...
If your going to do it and have the outlay you would be best having the gripper, the Quaife spins wheels just like an open diff does when the weights lifted which negates its purpose for me. If its a drag car or you drive the car for thousands of miles a year I can see its use, just go mild with...
All the good tyres go for cheap in 195/55/15 if you have a search around.... They're supposed to be alright if you have the room for the bigger profile.
Also this car will be going back to near standard over the coming months, things like half leather/alacantra interior, xenons, full suspension refresh, low mileage gearbox will be staying on the car so if anyone wants an driven but very well mechanically cared for car then get in contact.
Cheers, I like to drive my cars as they should be. Maybe, there is a few turbo/charged 106's up this way..... it was a good bit quicker on the straights than me and I was passing other 106's easily.
Crazy, i wish i could say the same. Its well worth the trip as others that have come from down...
If you would consider a swap for my cup below then PM me, it would come to you as a standard car as far as buckets/harnesses/steering wheel/front calipers as they're needed for my race car.
I'm not trying to put you off but FYI custom shafts and a few other changes are needed to run a standard...
Re: Road/Track 172
Thought it might have been sold as it was pretty quiet in here. I just re read the thread for some motivation for mine, mine will be very similar inside with the flocked dash, colour and then the ITB's
Got a link to the shell? I have seen the car before but never I never seen the eBay add.
I have a nice complete 172 cup that I may swap you if its the right spec, would be a nice spare shell for racing by the sounds of it.
If its ph2 172 then anything 16-25mm front and 16-20mm rear will be fine with your wheels as long as the sills aren't scraping the ground. I say 16mm as that's the smallest hub centric spacers you can fit on a Clio 1*2, anything smaller hub centric wise then you have to grind down the hubs a...
Kelv 888's really aren't a great tyre for trackdays or anything over a 5 lap race tbh (they just melt) they have their purpose but a048r's, Dunlop direzza's and Michelin pilot sport cups are where its at for premium list 1b road legal slicks.
No not a million miles away from Ricardo's S1600 copy being that they're both entry level word championship cars from different times. Fiesta has some nice bits like digital dash, wheels and engine , the wanli remoulds not so much.
Don't see what's wrong with the Fiesta, RS engine, genuine Ford motorsport body kit. If it goes for anywhere near the £7500 it would make an immense track/racecar.
Both have r at their title end now, ao48's always have. The new ad08r is meant to have a softer compound still with the 8mm tread the ad08 had. Not many reviews around yet though being so new.
Rule of thumb, anything over a 15-20mm spacer you want the bolt to hub type, under and then you just use straight through hubcentric, lower again (circa 1-6mm on a Clio) you can just use the flat type as the hub spigot will still support the wheel.
Asking others what they have isn't a solution...
