I have considered it yes - done a lot of cambelts in my time on pugs and my mate has the full renault locking gear - BUT I've read so many horror stories from Fred on here I'd rather just let the main man do it when I can afford it lol
Also no offense Stu - much respect to you as you know - but the big "ROLLCENTER" thing which you quite clearly wanted to read as "not the original build companies fault" (I don't want to drag names back in) - if you were building a car for a customer and outsourced some of the work, would you...
Hahaha - it's only temporary, I'll be pretty well off again in August when the girlfriend gets a job so I can't complain too much. There's much worse things in life than not being able to use your track car for a year LOL
Also it's FULLY my own fault - I spent the last of the car budget last...
Lawro - Ahhhhh cheers for that mate - I'll order one this week and chuck it on, got a few other bits I want to do before MOT too.
Daniel - Problem is if I spent £600 doing the belts I wouldn't be able to afford any track days till like November and it'll be SORN'd again by then for winter LOL...
It's very strong mate - that's why I'm a bit protective of it lol
117k but Dave did like 3 premium oil changes a year on it, it makes good power and pulls like a train.
I realise it won't last forever but I'd be a bit gutted if the cambelt snapped and I had to play "engine lottery" to see if...
Well the cost of fitting a new cambelt and dephaser is about the same as buying a 2nd hand engine.
For the next 6 months I'm so skint I can't afford either - but if it broke it would just end up back in the garage as I have a Passat TDi for my daily drive.
I don't know if the aux belt has...
Right,
I've found the invoice for the last cam-belt my Clio had - it was while Sir_Dave had it at 62,353 in July 2008
The car has now done a little over 117k - so it's done around 55k but is 4.5 years old
I believe the interval is 5 years or 72k - so it's not due on the mileage but it is...
Are you on a mac?
Take a look at iFlicks - it's brilliant
Just drag the movies into it, click add to itunes, and hit go - it loads of up artwork and all the meta data you will ever need, optimises the video for iTunes and adds it
Fecking hell - yeah I can sort of understand sticking a bulkhead plate in as it just stops road noise but roll cage not properly welded and gear stick plate stuck in with sealer - it just gets worse and worse :(
They can spray gloss white in a single coat - anthracite requires a clear coat
Painting the roof of the inside of a clio in clear coat is an absolute b**ch
I was fairly lucky the sprayer felt like a challenge when he did mine Blue inside. Getting the clear coat to settle properly on the roof...
Mine always used to make that whining noise with the ignition on from the throttle body
Have you checked the normal things? Spark plugs? HT Leads? Injectors?
When was it last serviced?
Re: 172 Cup Alternator Setup -- Fitting a 75A Alternator instead of 110A alternator
I'm pretty sure it's only a higher power rating to run the air con system - which you're removing anyway
Plenty of people on here have fitted cup alternators and brackets without issues
I've had several 50mm's over the years - 1.8 and 1.4 for my Canon bodies
I always find them a little too long on a crop body for most circumstances. Fine for portrait shots but pretty useless indoors
30-40mm is a nicer range on a crop body
That's the exact retrospective I have
I like it because in black it doesn't look like a camera bag at all which I feel happier about when walking around London etc..
It also has this nice velcro system where you can fold them onto each other so they don't stick - and you can open the bag...
Dude check out the Retrospective range from ThinkTank
http://www.thinktankphoto.com/categories/shoulder-bags/retrospective.aspx
They are awesome - I have a big back pack for if I'm carrying my body and big lenses but I have a retrospective for London trips and just walk about shooting
You...
That's perfectly correct
The bit you're saying you have missing is the bit under the strut - the bit you just photographed
I suspect you've put the rest on in the wrong order as something is stopping it clamping down as far as it will go
Put a photo up of the top mount "bits" and the...
