I took one look at the re-drilled discs and shuddered. Luckily got a set with the bells and rotors 2nd hand for half what jam-sport charge
I can't believe the bells and rotors on their own are £600!
Errr not really - the ONLY positive is it will stop the oil overheating, which you'll really struggle to do on a stock engined car or even a bodied car
The downsides are you can hole them and seize the engine (happened to a mate) or they'll cool the oil so much it can't get up to temperature...
It would have to be a really severe coilpack issue to make the whole car shake and the gearstick to shake around
Coilpack will just cause the engine too missfire but most of that will be damped by the engine mounts. Unless your engine is wedged against the firewall or something lol
Do I win a goldfish in a bag?
It's kinda scary this forum is full of people that think your symptoms could have been caused by a dodgy injector or spark plug lol
Shouldn't be really - you get to the top gearbox mount under the battery tray - they have a nut on the bottom of the mount that can rattle loose and the thing drops down. It's more likely to be that than snapped
A garage would just remove battery and undertray, jack up the gearbox till it's...
Open the bonnet and get someone else to blip it while you look at the engine - check an engine mount hasn't snapped, if it's making the whole car shake it sounds like a mount might have gone and the engine is moving about too much
As said - under the scuttle panel there is an alarm siren which is also the control box - remove that
The wiring is really s**t as the alarms were added on when the cars were brought into the uk - so it's not part of the renault loom
If you pull the wiring loom for the alarm out you'll find...
Matt - don't ... seriously
I have the Group N and it was so loud I had to have another silencer welded in the centre just to be able to pass noise tests
That's the 2.25" one - the Group A is 2.5" and even louder. There's no way you'd get on a track day and the car would just be uncomfortable...
As said - they're cheap brand new loads of places £60-80 if you shop around
Also - I know your pain mate, sold my 7D and 70-200 2.8 and all my other kit for about £3k so I could buy a daily runaround. Now back with a 50D and 40mm 2.8 but I REALLY miss my old gear :(
I don't mean this offensively but your posts are so heavily steeped in irony it's unreal
I've seen more bad maps from TDF than I have from K-Tec... it's all relative
With how much you've had painted were you not tempted to pull the roof and rear quarter vinyls off and have the whole thing done white?
Or is it just me that has a serious lust for white Clios lol
I would have thought it better to disconnect the lambda while mapping a car surely? The lambda should only really be there to trim the map not correct for a s**t one :(
It's hardly "miles better in every way possible" though is it lol - the 106/saxo are much better handling cars in standard form and arguably more fun
But anyway this wasn't really meant to be a 106/saxo vs clio thread - there's a million of them already!
Yeah I was on 16's with conti road tyres, passenger and had to slow down for an accident for a bit. I'm 90% sure I could have done a 9:20 while there with a clear run - and that was with a standard engine and full leather interior lol
If I manage to get back again this year on 888's with the...
YES!!
When I bought my car it had eibach springs on it with nearly new cup shock absorbers, it sat nicely, was a bit harsh but handled sooo welll
Did a 9:40 ish at the ring on them and to be honest the Bilsteins seemed a step down because they were soo much softer. They roll so much my front...
