Hrmm that was my other thought - I'm sure I've seen a few people before just put a pipe between the inlet and outlet on the PAS rack so it runs without PAS
I didn't realise the Cup rack was less turns to turn though - I thought the diesel rack was slightly quicker
They are a rip-off of the PMS ones. Use the same spherical bearing but more expensive because they're anodized lol
Honestly the PMS kit with strut brace is the 2nd best £200 you'll spend on your Clio (after a whiteline ARB)
None whatsoever - Bilsteins aren't a track setup. You can't tweak the rebound rates and they are too soft for track use.
Spax doesn't have the build quality of Bilsteins but after switching to KW V2's I would always say go with the most adjustability :D
Although saying that FK Konigsports are...
I got an MOT advisory on the track car for slight play on inner tie rod. Kinda expected as they have done 118k
I could get them both replaced at BTM same time as I get cambelt done (end of summer) but I had a thought
Looking through BIGASH's build thread I really want to swap my PAS rack...
Absolute nonsense about weak points blah blah
It's plastic - plastic welding is a piece of piss and is just as strong as before the break
I had my old 106 bumper plastic welded and they even put a bit of fiberglass backing on it to reinforce it - lasted for 5+ years and was still looking like...
Cool :D
I think I'll keep my uniroyals and try to find some cheap 15" wheels or steelies that I can use on the road. No point killing track tyres on the road
They're Uniroyal Rainsports that came with the alloys
They are really very VERY good on the road especially in the wet - but on the track LOL they just overheat and disintegrate.
Yep my mates just chucked some on his turbo'd 106 and very impressed with them. Gonna give them a go.
Just...
Hahahaha I know :(
It's become a rolling joke with my friends
For some reason £1200 brake setups and £2500 ITB conversions are fine, but every time I think about spending £600 on some tyres that will last a year I choke lol
Looking at pics of your car it's pretty low - but being a non sport bumper it looks high from the front
It might be easier to get a 1*2 front and rear bumper, and side skirts and make it into a sport replica. Unless that's not the look you're going for
By the time you get the front bumper...
I suppose it depends if the strut is solid or not. If it is it could be cut down and re-threaded, but if it's hollow (which I suspect it is) you might be out of luck
You'd have to get some that are designed to go lower
Is this on a clio? My coilovers go so low my front bumper ends up stuck...
What she means is she's lowered the coilovers as far as they'll go but the shock is bottomed out (sitting on it's internal bump stop probably) so she wants to know if you can have the insert shortened..
I suspect the answer is no
Haha nice
Mine aren't so bad as they are KW coilovers so have a proper 8 or 10mm hex head on them
You can put a 24mm swan neck spanner on the top mount and a proper socket on the strut itself
Or just cheat and use a cordless impact gun like I do lol
LMFAO I dunno - a few people always seem to winge that they've fitted solid mounts and it gets a bit louder
Same with the engine mounts "It makes my dash vibrate"
EXACTLY the same on mine - it was a half turn loose. I only noticed because there was 3 threads showing on one side and only 2 and a bit on the other
Being in the car it honestly sounded like a wheel was about to fall off - never heard anything like it
Oh and it would appear I sold my bilsteins too cheaply - as the knocking noise I assumed all of last year was my suspension (so sold them cheap) turns out to be my top mounts lol
DOH oh well
MOT UPDATE
Took the car for it's MOT today - had a little play around on the way there to get the brakes heated up and de-rusted, same with the exhaust.
Unfortunately I turned up feeling pretty bad about things, there was a clunk/bang from the front of the car over every bump that was getting...
Did they spin when you were removing the bolt?
Problem with stuff going through the boot floor is the bottom of the bolt corrodes with road water/salt and then when you go to undo them they're seized in
When you put the bolts in try putting a blob of grease or copper grease over the bolts to...
