Yeah definitely, most of them seem to be parts bin specials and no real evolution on the parts.
If you could measure from the ground to the CV mating face too as I have measurements for that as well.
Both my shafts have reluctor rings fitted but then some cup shafts don't :S
Where are you measuring your shafts from mate, I have 650mm N/S and 740mm O/S and that's with the shaft stood upwards on the ground and fully compressed. Measure from the ground to the tip of the threads, that's how a shaft should be measured.
I'm guessing your measuring from the ground to the...
Does what it says on the tin mate. Timing setting for group n cars.
And the settings shown is what has been called semi group n settings, full group n retards the exhaust cam too.
My road cup came with settings very similar and went like a scalded cat, lumpy as hell on idle but I'm really tempted to redo it again tbh as I preferred the way it drove.
Replace suspension parts in pairs tbh, the other one will just fail quickly or cause unneeded stress on the newer item. Typically left side shock absorbers get a harder life on road with roundabouts and also holes at the roadside.
The rear isn't that far off other cars I have seen, my cup is very nearly the same.
Your beam can't wear other than the bushes which is unlikely to affect your camber being that its almost equal, the rear bearings could have an affect on it though. Jack it up and give the wheel a wobble.
I think your confusing coilover's where the spring is part of the shock absorber and can't fall out and separate spring and shocker setup where the springs are secured by keeping tension on the axle via the shock absorber's.
You won't have helper springs on the later setup anyway but yes they...
Its a torsion bar rear beam on Clio's, camber stays static on the rear irrelevant of height. He is just advising I'm guessing to get the best from your setup, anyway I would have thought you have 'pigtail' springs if your running separate spring's and shock's on the rear.
I have searched most of the Renault shafts that I could find with 23 spline CV and inner. Laguna's, Scenics, 21 and an old van amongst many others. The 172 cup actually has one of the longest shafts fitted to any Renault with a JC5 fitted believe it or not. Like I said yours might be okay with...
I have thought about it many times and came close once. TBH your better selling the car and getting a cup racer money wise if thats the route you want to go.
Its not just the Box, its the subframe, engine mounts, flatshift control etc. It gets really pricey quick, box and lever will set you...
Yeah I am running the same setup on my car that I'm building but have yet to get my shafts. Sadev shafts will be of no use to you as there both male splined on the inside to fit the sadev diff. Noos on here has fitted Renault shafts to his 172 Cup which are 7mm longer than 172 cup shafts (the...
How ever much you want it too really depending how good you are at shopping around and waiting for the right bits to come up. Spoiler and wheels would sell for £450-£500 depending on condition and tyres.
The sensible money would be spent on a Cup 172, better suspension geomatery for a start above all other named benefits. Buy one and sell the spoiler and turinis for a good wedge = cheap track car. Fit better pads, lowering springs, RARB, good tyres, full geo and buckets and harnesses if budget...
I bought a cheapo ebay one which is the same as oem and been fine, only difference is the cap that came with it but I swapped it to the original.
Buy this one
