Holy s**t hard drives have gone up in price
I paid £58 for a 2tb WD green drive when I bought my NAS - in fact I bought 2 of them
The same drive now is £160!!
Nitrous? Seriously? Is it 1992?
ITB's are easy to fit even for a beginner - there's nothing complex about it
It only took me 2 hours with basic tools and a trolley jack
As said K-Tec have a full set of youtube videos that talk you through the whole thing
Get an Omex 600 with a pre-made 172...
I've just fitted ITB's - and I've tried it with the standard slam panel
It does work but leaves no room for filters at all
You could swap the 90mm trumpets for 60mm but you would lose a bit of power
You gain 20bhp if you take the manifold off and run without an exhaust - there's no restriction at all then ;)
People concentrate loads of the cubic feet per minute flow rate of an exhaust - no-one bothers to work out what the flow rate of the exhaust ports is.
If you're exhaust flows more than...
Sigma will re-calibrate for free yes - takes about a month though
You can get a test card which you shoot at from a 45degree angle - will show you if it under/over focus's
Amazon are ok - you'd be dealing with sigma direct for any warranty issues anyway
Thats the thing with sigma
If you get one that's been calibrated properly and focus's right - they're awesome
Nearly as good as L class Canon glass but cheaper. Trouble is the 3 I've owned in the past all needed to go back to Sigma for calibration :(
K-tec prices. And you've got a 182 so it's a 5 minute job. 172 takes fricking ages - it's bloody impossible to get to the bolts
LOL I'm glad you like the noise - Now get a remap to get rid of that flat spot ;)
Awesome work
Same suspensions as mine - B14's, ARB and pure motorsport kit. Handles soo well
I just wish the Bilsteins had adjustable damping - but still awesome for the money
As for the coilpack mount - I bought one from K-Tec as my coil pack wouldn't fit because of the strut brace too
If you...
Take a photo with a Canon L lens and then tell me you'd EVER consider using a Tamron
It's absolutely beyond me why anyone would pay £600 for a body and then throw a £150 lens on it
I had a couple of sigma lenses and they were soft as s**te so I sold them and got the canon 24-70 f2.8L which was...
How am I supposed to read that when you've spent most of this thread saying I'm wrong!??
Lovely holier-than-thou attitude
It cracks me up that people think I'm stressed/angry/at all bothered
This weekend I'll be carrying on mapping my throttle bodies on my Clio and next year I'll be blatting...
EXACTLY backs up what I said
The de-cat without a specific map for it leaves a whole in torque at 3000rpm - which is around the revs you're at coming out of a corner and you're in a big nasty torque hole
It's £150 and 2hours whacking your knuckles on stuff to make your car slower and illegal...
But with the size of the clio engine - at 7000rpm it's only flowing about 175CFM
So what's the point in fitting a K-Tec decat that can flow 300CFM as the air is just going to stall and you're going to lose all velocity. You're also going to lose exhaust heat as the gases expand to fill the space...
This is the main problem
MOT law is changing next year so even if your car was lucky enough to pass emissions tests without a cat they have to check the presence of one - so it's a fail
The 172 cat is a b**ch to change as the bolts are right up at the back of the engine
So it's £100-150 out of...
I literally couldn't give a flying f**k what you think though
I put a decat on my car - it was possibly a bit quicker at the very top end - but as there isn't a single track in the UK that I can hit 140mph on that was f**king pointless
Coming out of corners it was down on torque - and slower...
Can you back that up with LITERALLY ANYTHING?
I took my decat off and put my cat back on after running the decat for a year and gained a couple of seconds per lap at the same track last year - it had more torque and pulled better out of corners
I've not seen a single rolling road graph on here...
If you want power you want VELOCITY of exhaust gas. The standard exhaust is designed to do this.
The reductions in pipe size around the cat that people think are bottle necks are more likely designed to increase the speed of the escaping gases.
People think increasing the bore of the exhaust...
Ermmm clio's arent turbo'd - you're talking s**t
De-cats lose power if anything due to the lack of back pressure. Worst mod ever unless all you want is noise
Yes yes yes - someone who knows sense
The 70-200 f4L is SUPERB - you can grab mint second hand versions for £400 - had mine for 2 years and it's still absolutely pin sharp
The 50mm f1.8 II is awesome - I upgraded eventually to the 50mm f1.4 which is about £350 but such an amazing lens
I then...
OMP ones does need box sections welding in first - pics of them are on my progress thread
I'm pretty sure they all need boxes welding in for the main hoop as otherwise they don't fit through the doors ;)
OMP cage isn't too hard to fit - I've got one in mine that's had the rear modified to have a full cross and harness bars - check my progress thread
You just have to make up some feet for the front of it and the ones that OMP provide aren't great
Couple of hours work for a fabricator/welder though
Steer the hell clear of tamron - dire lenses
Sigma are "ok" but have focusing problems
For the money you have stick with your 18-55 and get a 50mm f1.8 II
It is a SUPERB lens and 99% of what you need to learn around a dslr you can do with the 50mm :)
That's the standard renault alarm
It's an abomination - they were brought into the UK without alarms and renault just hired a company to fit them
The wiring on mine was shocking - and yours looks even worse
The yellow wire should be a switched 12v by the looks of it and the red wire should be...
At the moment I actually only have a starter motor in my office
Last month I had a set of Jenveys, Omex 600, Omex loom, spare renault loom, 2 bucket seats and half a cage in my office LOL
Mine starts first time every time when cold - if you get it warm it sticks and won't start again till it's cooled down
Was a bit annoying at my last track day - had to bump start the car every session lol
