I agree with your technical definition of torque and horsepower - I totally disagree with the statement above
You're pretty much saying torque doesn't produce acceleration - which it does
Plus I'm bored shitless - and winding people up into week long arguments on here is my only entertainment :p
You need both - but for acceleration you need more torque to move a static heavy object than you do bhp
The only reason steam engines and lorries are slow is because they are geared to produce maximum torque and no bhp. That's because they both need to move a lot of weight from a standing...
Ermmm "torque does not equal acceleration at all" - I'm sorry but yes it does
Torque is the turning force applied - power is the speed it is applied. To get a static object to move you need force, once its moving you need speed
You only need to push a car off your driveway to know it takes a...
You don't want to know
All the dev work was done - but then waited for data to fill the site up, it never arrived. Neither did payment for the work I'd done.
Never do work for mates!
Is it just a case of buying some universal ones and if they aren't the right width to match the sidemounts - chopping the bar and extending/shortening it?
Well yes and no - they're designed that way for optimum air flow - but the spacing between the ITB's depends on the inlet manifold which is obviously car specific.
I'm picking up a pair of bimarco futura's in a few weeks for the clio - they've got side mounts and subframes and are already set to the perfect position for me so I'm happy
HOWEVER next year I'm planning a long euro-trip down to monaco and other places and I don't want to have do all the...
I know what you're saying - but for me I'm stuck in a rut where social networking and forums have taken over my life - and actually working and producing websites has taken a back seat
I'm not happy about that - I have a project I REALLY want to get off the ground - so I need to sort my self...
Sweet - I'll keep an eye on your progress thread for pics! :D
Quick question - regarding the air coming from the sides
As standard the trumpets are actually touching ever so slightly. Would you recommend filing the edges down to leave a gap between them or is touching fine?
We ran tights...
The permanent going to the cd player is live all the time even with the ignition on
You'd have to make a little controller that only lights the LED when the switched 12v is off
The problem is - 90% of people (yourself included looking at your reply) think BHP = Performance
Whereas more often Torque = Performance
What you gain in 2-3bhp you lose in torque. Bhp is good for bragging to your mates in the pub that your £100 de-cat gained you a few bhp but in reality...
Wow this is a difficult one for me
A few spring to mind...
Vulcan at Waddington Air Show
Clio racer at Donnington
I think looking at my flickr views though and the feedback I got at the time it might have to be this Red Arrows shot for me..
Not that easy mate - the signal to the dash is a CAN signal
You'd have to de-solder the led and put a new one in the whole with cables attached. Night mare :(
I've finished the Clio build - not doing any more on that in the new year just driving it
I don't do overtime anymore at work as they've decided to cut back and won't pay us for it anymore lol
I work 8am till 4.30pm and it takes 10 mins to cycle home - so I'll be home well before 5pm every day...
I'm only gonna try to do a properly thought out/setup/strobist shot once a week - probably on a sunday as I usually have sunday afternoons free and during the week I can jot down ideas
During the week I was just going to take a walk into town each lunch time instead of sitting in my office, do...
Rear seats are fine - just make sure you've removed the seatbelts! - they just put N/A then for your rear seatbelts
If they really are going to start checking that the engine warning light comes on and then goes off again - that leaves us with Omex/DTA's completely s**t out of luck because the...
LMFAO - No I don't and that's the point - there's nothing wrong with the renaultsport cat
It's not legal, it won't pass new MOT's, mine barely passed noise tests on track and they are PROVEN on rolling roads to lose torque
There are cars on here running 13s quarter miles on standard cats, there...
Yeah he has some awesome lighting skills - I pre-ordered his strobits info book off amazon last week - looking forward to reading that and buying some more lights and having a play
I don't like the way that his shots all have random quotes on them that hardly relate to the photo
I remember...
