Hrmm actually I see what you're saying - the deeper the are the more surface area they have so less airflow per inch than the smaller one = better breathing
Cheers mate - I'll grab the 60mm back box and 604D and get it fitted.
It shouldn't actually matter too much though as from what I could work out ITB's take a lot of there air from actually the sides of the trumpets rather than directly in front - that's why the socks are so bad
The sausage filters all seem the same width wise - just the depth differs
Saying that...
RenaultSport (not the same as Renault ;)) Also have a performance they want to meet
As you can see by the flow rates they don't restrict the engine and they make good power but still hit emissions
That takes a LOT of work to achieve - so why **** it up with a decat unless you want more noise...
Dan - I've been through Dustin Diaz this morning - I love some of his shots but a LOT of them are just f1.4 shots of leaves, flowers, benches, bikes lol
I guess thats the way it's going to go with a project 365 - a lot of days are just gonna be some low DOF shot of whatever is around
I've got a...
I tried a 52
I really want to kick my arse and learn some discipline. I'm not doing overtime anymore for work AT ALL so I've got much more free time next year
I've got some personal development projects I keep trying to start but I've got myself in a rut of everytime I do get free time I just...
Is it really necessary though - if you need 30-40mm of clearance at the end of the trumpets and they're 90mm
The back box is 60mm - so you only really need a 60mm deep filter. That 604D is 125mm deep
Surely the 602D would be fine?
Yeah I'm kinda glad I have a cup - no ABS, no ESP, no Traction Control. Only thing they can fail it on is Cat or Airbags - and to be honest if they fail it on the airbags I'll just get a dodgy MOT same as I've had to for the last 5 years lol
Thats 185mm for the box and filter!! - with 90mm trumpets lol
I hope the bonnet still shuts!
I must admit now I've fitted the smaller radiator I'm tempted to whack 120mm trumpets on it
If the light doesnt come on at all and their is no airbag system on the car you'll just get an N/A
This shouldn't be the case
If you remove the drivers airbag and fit a resistor - leave the side impact sensors and airbag ecu in then there will be no warning light and the passenger airbag will...
Seatbelt failures - rare
4 point 3" FIA approved harness failures - rocking horse s**t
Also the injuries caused by Airbags are fairly large - they're nasty things
Surely should be our choice if we take them out
I'm 99% sure that all of these will fall under the same current "if fitted must be...
Hrmm tempting
I guess I can buy the back box and get that cut and fitted and then see how much room I've got
I found this - http://www.jenvey.co.uk/home/accessories/airhorns-filters-and-boxes/jenvey-dynamics/airbox-backplate-50mm-deep-abb2-50
50mm deep fibre glass back box - that sounds about...
It's got f**k all to do with being a grown up
From living with 2 policemen and dating a paramedic I know the difference between an accident with seatbelts (move cars, clear road, all good) and an accident at 30/40mph without a seatbelt (2hrs spent holding a 17 year old girls skull together...
Hoping you guys can help
Working through the last parts I need to buy to get the Clio finished and out for a test drive - I need a filter for the bodies
I looked at the foam ones (lots of options there) but then I read quite a few people have seen good results with airboxes
After having a long...
Oh my god
You should win "most improved car of 2011" just for binning those wheels LOL
I like the graphics - just not keen on the Clio 197 bit - always seems a bit weird if you have to tell people what car it is lol
No no no no no dear god no
All it will do is act as a resistor lowering the voltage sent to the ECU. So the ECU will fuel wrong and give you LOADS MORE POWA!!
Bin it - bin it now
Why do people get so worked up about all this?
Airbags - they're not going to actually test the airbag by setting one off are they? And they're not going to take your dash apart to make sure you still have one. All they're going to do is look for an airbag warning light on the dash - fixable...
Bought a synchrometer this week - some long hex ball head keys - a PCMCI to RS232 card - a 3m long serial cable
Result of all that is the throttle bodies are fully balanced now, I've connected the laptop up and downloaded the ecu calibration for safe keeping and set the TPS raw values.
It...
Fit your exhaust properly!
It's not the center mount that's the problem it's the rear one - it's soo soft the whole exhaust hangs down
I fitted a solid rear mount and a new renault center one - been fine for a year - no stretching at all
My car has done 116k - and until I stripped it out it was running with a sub in the boot and decent speakers as my daily runaround
It's had 2 oil changes a year every year of it's life and every single component on the car (suspension, brakes, engine mounts, exhaust) are uprated and better than...
Same as northloop
I fitted a megafuse holder with a 175A megafuse in the engine bay
AWG0 - which is about 35mm2 cable through the gromet where the bonnet release goes and into the boot
I just put a battery tray in the boot and fitted the standard battery in there. I don't use my car much and...
Just read this
I'm out.
If you think you can get cams for £500 and a quick half arsed remap for £200 - you're dreaming
Cams are more than that without fitting
And if you're budget doesn't stretch to an RS2 (which are cheap) you shouldn't even think about ITB's
Sell the car and get something else
