LOL so you come onto a forum specifically full of renault clio fans and post a picture where you've labelled your car a urinal and then wonder why everyone doesn't instantly burst into spontaneous laughter and high-fives?
Sit back and thick about it for a while...
Yeah mate
Dash is out next week - then painting - then cage
Early september I'll go get it setup and corner weighted - then end of Sept I'm at Brands Hatch for the renaultsport day. Gonna book myself in for some tuition there :)
hahah I just noticed that - looks more like a bed than a seat!
LOL I have 2 - I don't think I'd be able to stomach paying 3 lots of tax/mot/insurance - 2 is bad enough!
It's mainly a track/weekend car - though I will be doing a european road trip and a couple of nurburgring trips in it next year
I did look at the PH1 dash but I'm not keen on the shape
I'll probably keep the glovebox just as somewhere to stick the satnav and gopro etc.. on the way to track
Nope
At rockingham I overtook every 172/182 on track - and the renaultsport demo clio 200 and megane a few times
I was quicker than a lad from here with a cup on R888's and a cage as well!
It just understeers and doesn't put all the power down. I completely ate a set of tyres due to the wheel...
I'm stripping the dashboard out the clio next week so I can remove the sound deadening behind it and start spraying the interior
I figured it's a good time to send the dashboard off to be flocked - but got a quick question
Can my 172 dash top with passenger airbag be flocked - or do I need...
LOL it sounds like you need to buy it back ;)
Yeah I know the tyres aren't the best - they'll be gone in a month or two for R888's - They were just cheap and came with the alloys.
I think the main issue is obviously me massively underestimating how much it c***s up the setup fitting...
Sorry mate
Something like this.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lastolite-Ezybox-Speedlite-Softbox-Flashguns-NEW-/280711506744?_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D5%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D1565172401177055420&_qi=RTM742988#ht_2897wt_1176
Without something to soften...
Crikey - that makes a hell of a difference to the weight distribution
Tony - sorry I thought I had. I'm looking at either sprinting with it next year or entering the MSV track day trophy
It will still be a weekend car though so I'm hoping to keep it road legal - just for 'ring trips and stuff...
Yes it fully does - it's quicker in a straight line but £1300 in suspension parts and it handles like poo lol
It's all a learning curve - I wasn't expecting to make a track car overnight I just didn't want to carry on down the wrong path
Because I don't want it as a daily drive anymore - I have a 306 as my daily drive - and I want to enter a series with it next year
I'm hardly gonna be competitive with a car full of leather interior and sound system am I?
OMG that thing flys
Right consider myself told - gonna book it in for corner weighting next week
Tyre pressures I'm not sure - 24 at front and 28 at the back but that was cold, I didn't check them when warm :(
There's not much I can do with the billies
Normally I'd stiffen the rear up and soften the front - but they aren't damping adjustable
I'm kinda wishing I'd just got KW V2's now instead of spending £900 on the bilsteins
Oh well
Was it setup before the coilovers?
Mine was bang on before the coilovers and I didn't think just lowering it another 10mm would have made that much difference :(
Stick to the 50mm f1.8 so that you keep lens distortion to a minimum - will also allow you to do some detailed shallow DOF shots to try and make it look more interesting lol
As others have said - lighting is key. You need to get the 430 ex off the camera (you can use the 7D to trigger it...
Right I'll get her booked in next week for a full geometry setup - then I'll get a day at Blyton booked and see how it goes
It's probably just my own stupidity - I never think tracking being a bit out can make that much of a difference but if you guys don't have any problems at all it's...
There's a lad in Gainsborough (30mins away) who used to be a clio cup driver back when they used 172's. He now does driver tuition and suspension setups
I think maybe I'll go see him and get him to set the geometry up and take me for some tuition at Blyton - see how I get on before I spend any...
Dan - I can't mate. It pisses me off to much.
For every time it makes me smile (such as brands hatch) there are 5 occasions where I'm shouting at it while it spins the wheels
It annoys me because I think if it put the power down it would be a fantastic track car - but I don't want to throw...
Dan - yeah I don't think I'm the greatest driver in the world and in the 106 it was a case of point it out the corner and nail it, so i've had to learn to be a bit less lead-footed with the clio - but honestly I'm talking half throttle and the inside wheel starts spinning
I feel really...
