Well I think my car at 126k and after 2 years of ownership where I've done virtually no maintenance work at all on it - has finally decided it wants pampering a bit
Drove it to work today to get the brakes cleaned off before I take it to Anglesey on friday - and the starter motor solenoid has...
Yeah it doesn't get out much
It's just a late night / weekend / track **** lol
It'll be garaged away over winter having some engine work - but we should get a lincs meet going in the new year!
It's getting there :)
I'm currently negotiating a second hand set of Jenveys that I'm hoping will be mine in a few weeks.
Then she's coming off the road for winter to have an engine over-haul and a general tidy up
Aiming to hit the tracks again next year with 200bhp and some bigger brakes :D
Doms - the bodies I've been offered are only £300 more than the cams!
Cheers 519 - that's what I was thinking. If I get stand-alone management and bodies first - I can go much wilder with the cams at a later date
From the ECU point of view I'd prefer DTA/Omex or the standard renault one as a really good mate of mine runs a motorsport company just over the road from my house and he's one of the best mappers I've ever met
So I'd want to keep it with a setup where I can nip over there for tweaks :D
Also...
Right guys
Current spec of car is..
Bilstein B14 coilovers, camber bolts, OMP roll cage with custom rear harness bars, pure motorsport top mounts and strut brace combo
K-Tec stealth exhaust and de-cat. RS Tuner 182 software and remap. Speedline 2118 palmersport wheels
I'm swapping my recaros...
You fully don't get it - It's about the aesthetics of the out of focus area - how pleasing it is to they eye
A slightly out of focus screaming protester with a s**t load of iso noise is hardly aesthetically pleasing is it?
It's under the bonnet - yes
It does its job - no, it sucks hot air in and provides no more power at all. It just echo's and makes a nice big loud noise just like chav's like
You don't go to mcdonalds to show your friends mods - you come on here and show thousands of people them instead
Congrats!
No it's about bokeh - it was "depth of field" but it was changed at the last minute ;)
Also anyone can buy a 50mm f1.8 - one of the cheapest lenses about and produces fantastic bokeh
Forgive me for sounding insulting here - but people couldn't believe you didn't have a turbo for doing a 15.1s 1/4 mile in a 2litre 180bhp clio?
I did 15.1s all day in my old 106 gti and it was a 1.6
I really thought clios would be quicker than that?
That video is faked by software - it can only do 24fps or 50fps which is half speed
Anything slower is using some of the software on the market at the moment that creates inbetween frames to slow it further
THIS!!
AF is useless for video - it's too slow and will focus past an object then back...
Yeah there's a new app out and it's 100x better than the old s**t
Downside is I think every iPad user in the world was on facebook today with the new app and it ground to a halt lol
Most 'arty' documentaries are filmed on a 5D for the full frame ;)
But yeah 7D does spectacular slow motion. I've got a 7D and I've never switched it into video mode once
I'd say just get a dedicated HD camcorder - because the 7D is £1100 and that's without any lenses!!
