Frankly - this ^^
I can understand why people get annoyed when K-Tec post a "last of line" sale stating they've bought all the stock - and then the same thing is on ebay cheaper
But come on!! The kit is utter crap - it's cheaper than replacing the standard clio shocks so effectively you're all...
I left it for ages because I knew the cage was going in - and the weight of the cage has dropped it 5-10mm all round. Thought I might as well mate until everything was in the car before getting it setup
Didn't realise it would be so far out - I thought it'd just be a little bit out
As I say -...
Quick pre-brands hatch update
Went over to FrenchSport Tuning on Saturday and got the cage welded in
Absolutely over the moon with the work.
The platforms that Bomber gave me were not very well welded together (no disrespect mate - I couldn't do any better LOL)
But we decided to re-use them...
LMFAO at you buying a cage in white and probably gonna paint it a mad colour - after I bought your cage a mad colour and painted it white
Looks awesome though - glad to see you've got a proper one and not those gay hoops
It actually didn't mate - it wasn't bad on the roads
On track though it was understeering like crap lol
I didn't want to get the geometry setup and corner weighting etc... until the cage was in. Got that welded in on saturday so thought i'd go get it done
I'm really excited to see what it...
Well what I did was use a tape measure between the hub and strut to try to get it even both sides. Seems to have worked well :)
Which part of my thread was moaning??
So I did FCS and was faster than most other things out including other 172s but the damn thing was very understeery. It ate a set of rainsports too
So since then I've been winging about the car being crap and basically bein miserable
Well it's brands hatch on Thursday so I thought I'd get...
Even if the increase in temperature is slightly less - a bucket behind a radiator, behind a slam panel, behind a bumper at 60mph will never produce a big enough increase in air mass to compensate for the temperature of the air decreasing the density
"Ram air" induction kits are utter utter...
By default the file sharing is compatible with lion - it's just a samba fileshare
To get the time machine stuff working you need to upgrade it - in the admin panel for it there's an "Upgrade firmware" thing - just keep doing that till you've got the latest :)
^^ This to be fair
I had a filter straight on the throttle body at the back of the bay and it worked amazingly
Since swapped for a BMC CDA with a cold air feed and it's shite
Also...
I've got the LCD back panel for my gopro - I couldn't use it otherwise as it would drive me nuts not being able to see what it's recording when I set it up
Should be able too mate. I put just a single hard drive in it to get it started then dropped a second in when I could afford the drive. It mirrored it all and set raid up straight away
It's awesome
Only downside is the interface is a bit clunky and installing updates took a while - but once it...
You change cars more than I change underwear!!!
That being said - that car is luuuush. Good work
Sure I cant tempt you to swap back to your old Cup? LOL
Sorry
It's an awful photo anyway
Yeah I had no idea how hard it was to paint a roll cage - most of the paint misses it lol
I think i'm gonna get it blasted and powder coated over winter while it's off the road
Small update (sorry for huge iPhone crap pic)
It fits ;)
Booked in Saturday 17th for mounts fabricating and welding with French Sport Tuning :D
Painting was a disaster - my garage, £600 bike, and car (which was outside) were all covered in overspray - took me all night to clean off last...
I did the same - filing a slight chamfer on the wishbone itself allowed me to tap the metal sleeve in with a hammer
Guy at the garage said not to press them in as they are too thin and would disform
