Sigma are such a huge hit or miss There QA process is appauling - most of the lenses under/over focus I found out you can send them off for calibration and they come back a month later pin sharp - but it annoys me they don't do that to start with :(

You don't need IS (it won't help) you need a tripod if you're using a zoom lens Done some video with a 50mm and it's fine. Awesome with a 28mm Anything at a distance really needs to be tripodded

Crikey that's impressive with the cage too I have no idea how much I removed from mine - I know i must be 80-120kg of crap came out Like I say though the 2118's weigh a ton :(

That's probably about right The 172 cup is 1021kg - I've removed about 80kg from mine (and there's nothing left in it except a seat and dashboard) but then the cage add's weight back in - and the wheels aren't light :( You'd be struggling to get a 172 lower than 950ish
