    Big brakes using Renault parts?

I might look into it once I have my car finished but at the minute I have far too much on my plate to be doing other bits. The 300mm kit would be easier to copy as they use the original caliper & and mount bolts. not as much machining needed.

    Big brakes using Renault parts?

Had a little time to put my brake kit together with some spare wheels and hubs I had lying around. No disks were fitted so need to get them tested on the car. Wheels- speedline 2118's in et 48.5 (cup racer fitment) Caliper mounts- 280mm version ( mounts look ok, a little thin in places where...

    Big brakes using Renault parts?

When I get my set fitted up and know more about the line ups etc, I would be tempted to produce a few sets of the 280mm kit i.e 15" wheels or larger if there was interest, maybe some 300mm mounts i.e 16" or larger depending on manufacture costs. This is basically the kit I have, the caliper...

    Big brakes using Renault parts?

It is all detailed in my above post, french guy over on clio rs concept sells the mounts & disks in various different sizes. Depends what size wheels you want to run as to which size of disk you can get away with. You will need clio 197 front brake flexi's- Custom caliper mounts- disks...

Top job. Your car looks smart as in this pic. You have just made me change my mind and one set of my 2118's will be black and one orange. Is that a polo se310 radiator you have fitted, sorry for being lazy and not looking through your thread to find out.

    172 cup boosted track toy!

Re: 172 Cup track toy! Yeah I guess its because its been hammered for 30 mins + qualifying that it has bedded in more than yours. Im not sure if it is an issue as everyone I have seen is worn like that, mine included but mine has been fitted longer so it's 90% coverage of the paddle. No word...

Green Track Cup - Back To Basics

Re: Road/Track 172 I would have to confirm if it's possible when I arrive home on the 18th to see if its password protected. That would be earliest I could do??? I will see if Omex can give more info.

    Big brakes using Renault parts?

I too had a PM from Noos saying that some parts will be going into production again. I personally think he is selling Seiz's parts with a mark up on them and don't think they ever stopped production. I have only heard bad word's about Noos's communication but It might change now. I have...

Green Track Cup - Back To Basics

Re: Road/Track 172 Yeah they do a "works specification" imagine that to be pricey tho. Im just going to get a race loom ordered Monday and see what I have when it comes. I might be able to help you with the Omex file maybe. I have a map on mine for 421's & ITB's just now. Is it possible to...

Another Clio 172 Cup track/race build.

Small Update, no progress has been made recently on the car itself. I have built up a head of steam this trip and should have plenty drive when I get home. Waiting for me when I get home. -Spare 2118's with slicks, brake deflectors, cup racer wishbones, uniball/holders & hubs. -My fiberglass...

    Toastfrenzy's Tin Top, some say...........

Pads are prone for going on fire when disks get too hot even with steel disks and sintered pads. My astra van had a partially seized caliper once and I went for a mad thrash and came home, my disk was glowing red from centre to outside, pads were on fire and cv joint boot had melted off ...

Looking good, your tempting me to cut out my bulkhead and add in the strut stiffeners supplied with my cage. Your about 2 metre's of T45 away from having a space framed Clio lol.

    172 cup boosted track toy!

Re: 172 Cup track toy! "I would love to know if the run out is normal and evens out once bolted to the flywheel or outside of acceptable limits" Clutches definitely move when you fit them, watch the fingers on spring when the clutch is being tightened, you will see.

    172 cup boosted track toy!

Re: 172 Cup track toy! Im sure my part worn paddle clutch that I will be fitting also has an uneven wear but It dosen't seem that bad. The whole face of the paddles has made contact almost. My advice would be phone Helix, as to me that looks like a faulty pressure plate and they will have...

    172 Cup Track/Fast Road car.

Bonnets are made of crepe paper, thinnest of s**t. Without looking threw your whole thread again, what depth back plate & filter do you have fitted? interested in room to bonnet. Really tempted to go for 120's before I map mine ( not cheap tho) Sunstrip? lol

    172 Cup Track/Fast Road car.

Looking good Phil, love the xenon's on the cups. Adds a bit to the front end IMO. Detailing gets addictive when good results are had. Good tip for you when using a buff, remove any plastics that pop out easy like the grills and fog surrounds, makes life easier. Tape everything else that's bare...

    172 Cup Track/Fast Road car.

Yeah they are a bit but I have managed to get two sets for good money that I will use for dry running and will use willy wheels for wet hopefully (depending fitment) I need good strong wheels for Knockhill as jumping the kerbs is the quickest way around. Once mine is fully built and geometry...

    172 cup boosted track toy!

Re: 172 Cup track toy! Did you have it fitted right way round, usually with clutches its nipple out?? By that I mean the spigot of the clutch ,there is a raised section in the the centre slotted part of the clutch that protrudes more on one side than the other

Chase Racing Clio Build Blog (TinTops Entry)

Sounds strange about the brakes but with a balll's hair left on the pads, that was probably your issue. Good to know this can be done without rubbing of any sort, Kenny s will be happy for sure as he has done similar and was worried about rubbing. I see you run a brake balance adjuster, do you...

BIGASH/FF-Racing X85 Clio Cup Racer Project

Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He Nice one James, you should be up at the sharp end with Burp when you get issues sorted. Confidence in brakes is the biggest thing for me when going for it. If ever there's an argument to simplify the engine...
