that was 18months maybe even 2 years ago across 4 different independants. 1 said they wouldnt do it one said £400 and the others were all more than that. Bodyshops by me dont like doing it, or the one that did like doing them was a proper chav place that went bust because they ripped everyone...
the advice in this thread is disgusting! If he said, I'm driving with no insurance policy because it'll be cheaper in a weeks time after my brithday or any other excuse you would all be flaming him!
Only difference with this is he is paying for something completely worthless so throwing money...
As you say probably isnt the highest quallity s/steel. Worth contacting janspeed though and taking photos to send them. could probably be tidied up with some metal polish if its not too serious.
and in 23k miles the dash clocks will need replacing, the drivers door will be falling off, the body computer will need replacing, the gearbox will need rebuilding, the interior trim will need refitting as it will have fallen off, the stereo will have broken trapping a limited editin CD in it...
ceramic is cheaper but wont last as long (will still last a long time) stainless is more expensive but will last longer, not worth it imo unless you intend to keep it untill the car dies
