Yeah but it also gives a nice feed from the scoop on the wheel arch lining - and gives a nice place to clip the cold air feed
It doesn't make the induction quieter - or restrict power so whats the point in removing it and having the cold air feed just flapping about - and blocking off a vacuum...
It doesn't though - mines fully hooked up and hardly ever closes - the induction noise is awesome
I'm not one for having random ecu cables disconnected and vacuum pipes blocked up just for the sake of it
Renault knew what they were doing when they designed the air box for these cars - why...
Unfortunatly there isn't one on here
I spent AGES looking for a pic of it fitted - as I bought one from cliospares then couldn't work out how to fit it LOL :(
Get some pics of your engine bay up and take a pic down below the passenger headlight - and then we can tell you whats missing :)
I had to buy an acoustic valve from cliospares - then as a few have said you just need to jack up and remove passenger front wheel and inner arch - 30 min job at most
Yours might still be there - look down behind the passenger side headlight see if you can see it
I'm glad I put mine back to...
You need the airbox with filter
The 2 cold air pipes (bottom and side)
The pipe from air box to the throttle body - with the breather pipe
Both the brackets to hold the airbox in (if they've removed them)
And possibly the acoustic valve
My cup had a pipercross filter on too and I've put it back...
There didn't seem any point in loosening the gearbox mount as the bolt holes are the same size as the bolts - there's nowhere for it to "settle"
So I just did the drivers side mount and its quite a bit quieter
I might whip my battery and airbox back off this weekend and try the gearbox one too...
Re: Clumber Park 20.03.2010
I went down there 2 weekends ago on my way back from donington - there's LOADS of big areas of grass off the main road we can park on for free - could get some disposable BBQ's on the go if weather is nice
:D
They're doing that deal all over the website
Free Sky+HD box, free installation
The thing they don't tell you is your sky goes up £10 a month for the HD pack - and another £10 a month for Sky Multiroom so you can watch it in the other room
So you're paying £240 extra a year
I got the free...
Re: Clumber Park 20.03.2010
I'll come across and take some pics and say hi
I'd prefer sunday afternoon as I'm taking the engine out the girlfriends 106 gti on Saturday - but I can be quite flexible if everyone else prefers saturday
Franx - that happened ages ago - near christmas but yeah they're trying to get production back up
I bought and fitted a powerflex lower mount last month - when it turned up inside the packet had a strong smoke smell. I suspect it was stock that wasnt damaged by the fire - but man it smelled bad lol
If anyone else is interested about the vibrations
I did what Tom suggested on saturday before a drive to Wales
I loosened off the 4 main 16mm bolts holding the drivers side mount in place - and loosened off the 15mm nut in the middle
I then made sure the engine bracket had the stud sticking...
I'm assuming they mean jack removed mate - I've got a 2hr trip over to wales tomorrow morning and then back on Sunday
First thing in the morning i'm gonna try loosening the bolts and give it all a good pull and push without it being on the trolley jack - see if it will settle a bit. But I'm...
Yeah that's pretty much what Tom's just emailed me
Would have been nice of KTR to put some instructions in with them LOL
I'm gonna try loosening the 4 bolts around the drivers mount and the main nut - give it all a good pull and push and see if it stops the vibrations a bit - cos currently...
I've had mine fitted for 2 weeks now - only been to donington and back but there's a LOT of vibration
The whole dashboard vibrates around £3k - sounds like everything is working loose
Not a massive amount of vibration on tickover - but yeah moving there's a fair bit
Also 5-5.5k it resonates in...
The problem is theres more than just tracking which can cause it
If the tracking has been out in the past and unevenly worn the tyres - that can cause it
If you get tracking done by a good place with laser alignment who also look at camber/castor angles - then the tracking is fine
Try...
