Being Cat C wouldnt bother me, but for the age of these motors you dont buy thinking you are gonna resell TBH- well i wouldnt
The diameter of the struts on the New Ranger lift hardly look substantial to me. Sure they are fit for purpose but lifting the whole car by the looks, not so sure I'd feel comfortable. Pistons can give.
Least with a trolley jack placed in the area that you are working for insurance, with axle...
There was a chap in Kent last year, hit the headlines, got killed working under a car without axle stands, the jack gave way. He was there couple hours apparently
Not trying to pee you off, i dont liking getting well under either, but if you go under then its axle stands AND trolley jack for me...
Sounds frightening Jeff. I use axle stands a lot, but always leave the trolley jack raised around the location where i am working
Shortly getting a lightweight trolley jack, then i will use 2 still raised as a back up to axle stands
Its working on ramps that concerns me for some reason
sometimes you have to pay your money and takes your choice
Least the money outlay with National is pretty good, and the lads I spoke to seemed very knowledgeable. Knew quite a bit about track cars and suspension

Think Ive cracked my problem- going to replace the quick release 3icnh web harness, for a 2inch seat belt style harness
save all that messing about at the off
Have taken my 172 around a few tracks over the summer, and fitted decent Corbeau seats, then fitted a 3 inch webbed unbranded 6 point harness.
The harness seems fine safety wise, and keeps you well planted in the set.
Only problem I have is trying to get all the clips into the holder, when the...
Just taken the front two off, and one seems ok ish, and the other has lumps out of it.
Would that one be ok to run on the track? Tread is several mm, just a few chunks on the outer shoulder missing
Thought it was low to let them down to 24psi, but the grip was immense
Cant get thru tyres that...
i started out 30psi all round for track, then continually let them down to 30psi, then, after advice dropped the rears to 28psi and fronts to 26 psi.
They crept back up to 30, so dropped them to 24 (Advice from a professional driver at lydden hill which is a track that has rep for eating tyres)...
Yep- see you at Brands next year then
Ive got a Brands day booked November now, will be my last before next Spring
Lydden was great, my best track contribution by far. Had some ex pro giving me tips round the track, and we had a little game of tag round the course at the end of the day
Just...
Mine held up fantastic round Lydden yestday. 6.5-7k revs most of the time and Jeeeees- how much petrol is used on a track day
Took on Mitsubishi's, Civic R's, loadsa Mini's, beat the lot and kept going. Even drove 100 miles home no bother

Icebergs do look good when clean, even better in the rain for some reason. looks gleaming
Was gonna plastidip it gunmetal next year, wonder if I should reconsider
Gotta get thru a nice cheapMOT first, then Cambelt, so better get saving :-)
Chap I bought it off said it was worth more broken...
Mine hit 165bhp earlier in the year, altho the paintwork is rubbish
