Thread resurection: Anyone know if these actually help cooling the engine at high speed/ track days, or are they just an appearance thing
My PAS fluid boiled over on the last track day, wondered if these would help?
Looking forward to this- just booked a B+B nr Newport Pagnall. Will be in MKeynes for a drink Saturday evening if anyone out and about and fancy a meet up
looks very interesting. be good to hear how it handles
Having major issues deciding on mine, have a 350mm flat at the moment, but as I have a fixed Corbeau sprint seat, its a bit tricky getting in and out. So thought deep dish may help, then get suede, then maybe smaller than 350mm- 330mm or...
Changed the 8.8 tensile bolts holding my seat brackets to the subframe with 12.9 tensile strength, fitted an extinguisher under the passenger seat, removed the bolt hole hasp from end of harness straps on driver side, undid the webbing and fixed the harness to the roll bar cage with aid of a 3...
i used hi tensile 12.9 m8 varying length bolts from 3cm to 5cm, (Either seat to frame, or frame to chassis) and steel penny washers either side and nyloc nuts
Yes- looks fair complicated to me, thats why i prefer people showing me, then i remember for life
Looks like the bleeding Krypton factor, but reckon you lot will suggest Generation game!
Good game, good game (RIP Brucie)
Ed: Actually, having read it a couple times, dont look too bad. just need...
Got my harnesses secured to the floor on existing threaded bolt hole and they seem secure as heck
Now I read that they can cause "compression of spine" if an accident occurs, so what I do.... unravel the latch, undo the wrapping and then try wrap it round the cage bars?
Anyone local who knows...
just fitted a 6 point harness to my Corbeau bucket seat, and that central aircraft style release is a pain to get all the (4 at the moment as crotch belts not fitted yet) belt buckles in at once. Is there a knack or just fiddle?
Also- got a brand new unbranded one from ebay, and had a drifting...
after a month or so of driving on them, they seemed to have cleaned up a bit
They did perform well on the day (Wasnt a full day, just 2 hrs) just surprised how rough they got
They wont last more than about 3 full track days at that rate imo, and thats pricey at around £300 for a new set
Still-...
deffo just drive it on a track- novice sesh why not?
I got a rear half cage purchased (Used but unblemished) with plates weklded in, and all fitted for £350- not that pricey and comforting when shooting round a track
what bucket seats you got?
welcome to the Club Hinesy. weather chilly over there?
Our summer is as rainy as usual
Hope to pop over soon and say hi- clean up your spare room for a 6 week period can you :kissingheart:
Yes- ha! I always say stay steady, after a few laps of peeps overtaking me its pedal to the metal and hang on tight. lol. Good luck
(And here is someone sailing past me at FCS Donnington recently)
It has crossed my mind, but i do have the consolation of Wings and wheels show at Guidlford 40...
How you reckon it gets out- as my PAS reservoir cap was on tight as heck
Is there some sort of expansion vent or something?
wonder if its simple to chnage and upgrade the fluid?
You may have just answered something from my last spin out round Donnington at FCS.
Went a bit mad and stayed out for 25mins or so (Caused a few issues as in tyres and brakes) but also looked like power steering chamber had liquid all over it- could that be what your referring too?
would luuuuurv to come to this- just too far, and other stuff happening
Next year pretty much - altho i am planning a trip to the Ring later in the year,
Sure you will have fab times- and track time too. Luvly jubbly. (Envious)
