Enjoy it mate. I wouldn't worry about the power increase, its noticeable but its not like its a 400bhp Skyline. I went from a 1.2 to a ph1 172 without any issues, the ph1's are more of a handful than a 200 ;)
Not good but you could have done more to avoid the situation I guess.
I don't bother with any form of road rage, no point, I wouldn't do it in the street so I wouldn't do it in a car.
Hope you get it all sorted though dude.
It says it just increases throttle response. How does it make it quicker and better mpg?
Have you got any more info on it? £206 seems like a fair bit of money.
I suppose the depreciation is because a lot of people buying the prestige brands want them brand new. When people come to buy them second hand not a lot of people want to pay 80-90K for a used car so few are sold at that price so the prices are dropped until people will take a punt on them...
I'd try and reject it as above. £3500 for a leggy 172 is very expensive. There have been some superb examples gone on here for £2500. Mint PH1's are under £2K now and they're the best ones any way.
To be honest the non sports, especially the diesels can hold their value better than sports at the minute.
I'd personally be looking at a Clio dci, the non sport petrols aren't great really. The dci's are torquey, smooth and very economical.
I've never been in a 65 but I have been in an 80 and 100. To be fair the 80 and 100 had surprisingly good performance for what is one of the most economical cars on the road.
Put it this way, there was little in it once rolling between my 1.8 MX5 (Albeit its a 13 year old 115K mile model with...
I wouldn't be fixated on mileage mate, history and condition is more important. On here some of the most mint cars are on 80k+ but have had religious servicing and upkeep.
Have you considered a Trophy? Generally they get a lot more TLC than a normal 182 because they're a model that appeals...
I remember getting a quote on a ph1 172 when I was 19 that was affordable (£1300), I think I got an erection when I realised I could actually get one.
Good luck with the search mate. It will be worth the wait.
The 197/200 engine on average only makes 185 - low 190's on average anyway.
ITB's will give a genuine 200bhp generally with about 170ish lbft across a very wide rev range where as a 197/200 engine would still have the OEM peakiness but with reduced power and torque.
Its looking well Neil. Gets a lot of care this car though, unlike mine which in Le Mans was ragged round the camp site for 5 days and I wonder why the paint is falling off....
When is it getting more power that you mentioned?
A E46 coupé must be the best way to make yourself look a lot richer than what you are. I'm not saying that as an insult by the way but they look so much more expensive than they actually are.
You can pick up a leggy one for as little as £2K, stick a private plate on it and average joe thinks...
