Its not so much a waste if you buy mods that are easily reversable and have good resale value. For example coilovers, exhausts, seats etc sell very easily on here and if you buy and sell carefully you won't lose too much.
This is exactly why i'd only have a RS Clio serviced again by one of two specialists, both off here. There are other good ones down south but thats too far away.
For £5K you should be able to get a mint 182 with belts now. Theres on in the forsale section on here, can't remember who's it is but its on 68K, turini's, matched inlets, exhaust etc for 4200 with fsh and belt changes at rentec. I'd buy it tomorrow if I wasn't going to uni next year. Such a bargin.
Tyres can make a great car into a poor car if you use poor tyres. When you see a performance car with budget tyres it makes me sick. I never got on with the tr1's I had on my 172 though, I actually prefare the mid range federals I have no my mazda 323 run around.
I think i'd go hankooks when...
Good setup that mate. I ran TR1's and standard brakes on my 172. Never got on with the TR1's but the standard brakes were ok for road use. Would have prefared uprated though.
If I was buying one out of warranty i'd go for somebody like Jam-sport, If in warranty then montune all the way. No point in buying a brand new car then throwing the warranty away.
I'd go for the best example of a ph1 or ph2 you can find if you have no preference. I'd just look around for the one in the best condition with history etc.
It sounds awesome. Be interesting to see how much power it has lost, ideally somebody should create a solution that sounds like an open cone but without the disadvantages.
The closest available on a 1*2 if a ph1/v6 airbox without air feeds. Doesn't lose power but gives a nice loud roar when...
+1 Recaro's, speedlines, cup pack, spoiler. Absolute heros spec. A spec that will be awesome to buy in 3 years time when its worth £7-8K and pikeys like me can/want to afford them ;)
I didn't realise it was possible to get so much abuse for putting an open cone filter on your car. He'd probably get less abuse if he started a thread saying he'd murdered a small child for a laugh.
If its any consolation I like it, I wouldn't personally run an open cone but they do sound superb.
Shame to see it mothballed Chris. Sounds like its the best decision for you at the minute though.
A new place and having a 133 to play with will make up for having the RB sat in the garage.
Good pics Riad. It was a good meet the bbq was awesome.
Hats off to naith for organising it all :star:
I'll put the few pics Niall took up later on when he's put them on photobucket.
Cruise is a good feature. I'd like to have it on my next car, just makes motorway cruises more relaxing, easier to stick to the speed limit too as you can't creep your speed up going downhill etc.
