Spot on. Most hot hatch owners want to brag about their cars 0-60 and power figures and then occasionally race down a dual carriageway against another car. They aren't bothered about b-road blasts and going on track therefore they don't generally care about drivability, making the engine more...
I think part of the problem is Renault are also relitavely new to the hot hatch game they haven't had years of motorsport pedigree like ford have going back to cortinas etc. The fast fords have a huge international following and demand is huge for tuning products.
When the RS Clio eventually...
It looks nice and the price is good. Things to watch are there is no mention of service history or most importantly the cam belt/aux belt inc accessory kit change. However being a cup the belt changes are cheaper due to no aircon, iirc most specialists charge around £300-£350 for a cup.
Its not the turbo that makes the vxr's not handle its the chassis. I'm sure the 200 could handle extra power, the reason it won't get it is because it will then tread on the meg 250's toes.
Re: Cheap for a 182???
Personally I wouldn't give more than £3500 for it. I'd have to source a new front bumper, sort a screen then pay £500 for the belts to be done. Bearing in mind the bumper will almost definately need spraying as an inferno one would be hard to source. All costs £'s.
It shouldn't have done any harm being used on track mate, unfortunately its not something you have to disclose when selling a car. I saw a BMW 135i on track at oulton the other day, a cat you'd never expect had been on track.
The car looks really good mate. I'd be happy with the price.
Personally if I plan on modding a car, like I did with my 172 I went with a mod friendly insurance company. When I didn't want to mod my car when I had my 1.2 I just went with directline as they were the cheapest.
A non mod friendly everyday insurance company really do know how to charge for...
As far as i'd go if fitting a set of buckets and harnesses with no rear seats. Even then where the seats where would be carpeted. Ideally if I was to get another 1*2 i'd like 197 recaro's in them. They're ideal for fast road/occasional road use.
Thats not good mate. People are so carless sometimes. Had a van do it to me yesterday actually, he didn't even notice.
Hope you get it sorted as easily as possible.
On a good motorway run averaging 70-80mph my 172 would do 44mpg. It was pretty much always 44 mpg on a motorway trip when i've filled up then gone straight onto the motorway.
This thread is making me really like R26's. They do so much so well. The only thing they're missing is a good sound track, if they sounded like a FRS they'd be 10 x better.
I think i'd go for uprated mounts if I was to get another 1*2. Can't stand engine movement.
Get yourself back down to ktec for a SC conversion and go beating the AMG's!
Hopefully the weather will be good.
