Having read a few threads on this subject and having a 197 engine to hand it seems like a good idea.
From what I've read you just need to tap the 197 head for the water pump idler and it bolts straight on then you fit the 197 pistons, rods and crank into the 172 block and Roberts your Fathers...
Anyone have any opinions on a good launch control system for a 172?
I use it on my Cossie as it a built in feature on the EMU ECU as it holds the revs at a given point and retards the ignition and builts up the boost very loud but does the job.
I don't really want to go aftermarket ECU on the...
Right then bare with me while I give a quick explanation as why I would want to use a 1400cc bottom end a supercharge it in a 172.
I currently run my Ph1 172 in the Midland Hillclimb Championship in Class A1 (Road Going Under 2000cc)
Under the regulations you can fit a supercharger or turbo...

I have a Ph1 with none body coloured moldings and want to to change them for some Ph2 body coloured ones, I take it they are the same fitment?
Also same with the door handles?
