Good luck with the build mate, you wont regret it :race:
Any questions around building turbo's, Chip and Andyrg are both very knowledgeable and helpful
About to buy a 172 cup with Koni adjustable dampers (the ones from k-tec £562 http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=610&appid=2 ) and Eibach Sportline springs. Now i have a set of FK Konigsport Coilovers in my garage that have only done 5k. I think the car would look better sitting...
Are the AD08's ok to use in the wet for track days? Im torn between them or RSR's for my trip to the "ring" in the summer, dont want to get there in the wet and have to drive like a granny because my tyres arent up to it in the wet...
Ive just had a Ktec 172 stealth with the centre silencer fitted. Cant complain, only a tad louder than the standard system and has a little pop every now and again on the over run!
Going to be de-cat'ing it soon though to run a nice chunk of boost through it... doubt it will sound the same...
Hi All,
Got a few bits and bobs lying around now that i need to get rid of to clear some space
182 FF cup packed springs - £50
Ph1 rear bumper has scratches on the drivers side but in good condition as was recently sprayed before some pr@t decided to drive into it in a car park and drive off...
I bought the silenced cat back system as im going to be running a de-cat and didnt want it to be too loud, its only a little louder than the standard exhaust i replaced it with ! Really impressed with it and the fitment is pretty good too!
Be interesting to see what its going to sound like with...
+1
Had a ph1 172 and fancied a change so gave it to my mum and got an Evo, then a mini cooper s, ended up back in a clio 182 FF and havent looked back, very fun car to drive and cheap to run/maintain (compared to the Evo lol)
Great thread Dan, been looking for updates on this all day
Good work getting it going, and for having the balls to tackle this work on your own!
looking forward to the finished result...
You say that now but I'm sure (like I found) you will end up back in one!
i had my ph1 172 for 4 years and always wanted an Evo... So one day bit the bullet n got a mint 350bhp Evo 5. Had this for about a year n got sick of the running costs. It was sold for a "cheaper" run around cooper s...
Yeah that's what mine does!!!!
thing that confuses me is... It made that noise before/after I had the belts changed?!
oh we'll il get it sorted when I have boost added to it in the new year!
To be honest ive not driven the car since then as its being turned into a track car. When the work starts on it i will be getting the issue sorted.
If you find anything out feel free to PM me mate so i can save time messing around!
I think i read somewhere that (if you have climate control) you dont need to put your heating on full, you just need to set the temperature to a comfortable one (mines at 22degrees) and your car wont use as much fuel as it would when your heating is set to max all the time? maybe worth a try...
Love the car... Does anyone else think they sound just like an R5 GTT or is that just me?
any performance upgrades planned? A remap has got to be on the cards surely?
Cheers for your input Chip... So is being able to rev further what gives bike engines the ability to make such big bhp for the size of the engine?
What is it exactly that allows a vtec to rev so high and freely in comparison to other engines? Ive read a few of your posts now where you mention...
