silver 172 cup, less than a hundred in the UK I read recently. Rarer than a trophy if that's the case. 6.5k for a rs Clio is a bit silly irrelevant of its colour and mileage. Just think what car you could get with 6.5k with more performance..
Yep did mine too. Went ok. Take your time and don't forget the heat gun. Did my wing mirror caps too, they needed alot of reapplication to get neat though.
Checked weather forecast to make sure it won't rain, then cleaned the old girl and buffed it up. Gave the interior a quick hoover. Waiting to pick up my newly machined 15mm spacers for the rears. Hope to fit em tomorrow afternoon. Pics to follow if I do.
as the title suggests, anyone know definitively if you can run a cobra Monaco bucket seat with the standard seatbelt? Where do you mount the pretensioner? Any help or pics to guide would be useful. Cheers
wasn't aware they were different. Thought the 172/182 had the same jc5 gearbox. Might have to get the more expensive one on ebay if that's says it fits.
try euro car parts or gsf. Normally cheaper enough.

its not too bad tbh. Its a wheel off job though. Iirc its either a 22 or 24mm spanner. If your gonnaa do an oil change you need an 8mm sump plug remover, the square one. The clip squeezes together then pops off then its old switch out new one in. Before you do all up sand put the new oil in just...
No sorry the rear light cluster. Just one screw undone by hand iirc to whip it out then unclip the bulb holder all one piece. As if you were replacing a brake light.
Had this on my first 172. It was badly corroded contacts so just whipped the light cluster out and gave all the contacts a light abraid and all was OK. It only happened when cornering no idea why. Cheap French electronics no doubt:tongueout:
Mine was the gearbox switch when they went, although if the wiper comes on its not usually that. There is an earth that's worth checking which runs to boot floor. Fuse is in the fusebox under the bonnet next to the battery, 5amp iirc. Check the obvious/cheap stuff first if its none of that then...
not an option for me as I have 195's already. Cars was lowered on Eibachs when I bought it so knew it was gonna be tight. It'll be fine. Lucky I have the option of machining them down.
Removed my newly fitted rear 25mm spacers in my lunch break at work as they rubbed on the arches on its test drive. They're off to the stepdads lathe to be machined down to 15mm. Hopefully this will sort it.
Obvious ones are cambelt service intervals and rattling de phasers. Other than that it's French so will one day have a random fault which will miraculously fix itself unless it's feeling unusually billigerent.....:tongueclosed: Seriously though they're brilliant little cars with loads of...
Not one of life's lookers but not the reason I started the thread. Still end up with a stunner for girlfriend though. Just look at Flávio, so 'Mrs young 21yr old model', what first attracted you to the multi millionaire rich Italian!!!:laughing:
Nice car with some nice mods irrelevant of why you bought it. I love the bottle opener pointless 99% of the time probably but I love doing this little things to cars, giving them the personnel touch.
Your best option is to get them clipped out of the ecu now. Previous owner hasn't left you much to work with! Be about £40 ish for a specialist to do I reckon.
