Ha you must have my old setup then, me and Dan @ sjm made the first one.
Though a lot of people slated it, saying it wasn't as quick as it should have been and also that throttle response wasn't great etc BUT:
it made 193 bhp on RS tunings rollers, and over 200 bhp on 2 other rollers.
It...
Yeah (like the ones on the bora) unless any bargains pop up - I don't want to end up with a car where the wheels are worth more than the car itself lol.
Plus I can run with 195/50/15's too - nice and cheap (can you see a recurring theme here?)
Deep dish would be lovely Dave, but again the proper made ones are ££££ so the other option is to band them - which needs to be done right or they imbalance, so again cost £££ :(
Update time!
Nothing too interesting, she is about to turn on the magic 160k mark, so will have another oil change this weekend.
The modifications are now starting too - the suspension is the original stuff and is so far gone past fudged - you can near flip it over by rocking it lol. So...
Ha id forgotten about that, yeah we took the measurements of my rear (lol) made it up and I had the prototype on my car, I ran it for a bit and suggested a few tweaks and it worked very well, i ran that prototype on my black ph 1 for aaaaages
The main issue is ignition system issues - if a coil breaks up it doesn't miss fire like a cylinder engine, it gives slowly reduced power and starting issues, which leads to the fuel not igniting properly, and the oil being washed off the rotors and loosing compression until it just refuses to...
As much as I'd hate to argue with you, damn you know me too well X
It's good fun, though I have been told to expect 6-10 mpg on track if you really go for it :-/
Bought this for Llandow next month, bought for bugger all, 81k, no cat so spits flames and is the perfect spec - Front engined, RWD, 9500 rpm and carbon proshaft - should be cracking fun :D
Ps, I have heard them all - 'it will blow up, it will use 20000000 gallons of oil (They are SUPPOSED to...
lol I only noticed that after I had uploaded it and I was betting that you would notice :o
I've put it up for sale at £3150 dude, but a CS member might get a better deal.....
The pictures literally do not do the car justice - the car has been used as the typical family run around, was owned by my brothers business partner and his wife used it mainly to shuffle their 3 kids around and due to daily life it never really got a proper clean (mechanically it's spot on, and...
its not the ICV, it's the throttle body - follow my guide I did about 4 years ago in the guides section, or take it off and send it to me and I will sort it mate
Small update, MOT time!
And..... it failed :(
On front brake imbalance. lol. The only advisories were both wheel bearings on the rear have slight play (so I will be tightening them up at the weekend)
A set of genuine front pads and discs fitted to the front and a fresh MOT and brakes...
Overall, the f4r is better for limited budget, but it depends how far you wish to go, ultimately you can get very big power out of both if you spend enough
IMO driving style matters a lot, I've had a million clio's and it's easy to get under 30, though if driven carefully it should be easy to get over - the 172 I have for sale at the moment I can quite easily get it to show around 40mpg
Make sure it is serviced, make sure the cam timing is...
