...bought a 172 on Saturday never notice any unusual noise on the test drive or on the way home (100 miles), but when I had my head under the bonnet yesturday I noticed a slight whining noise. This increases in noise with the more revs you give it and now I know it is there I can hear it when...
I enjoyed owning the TT, well apart from the outstanding finance issue that was covered in general chat a couple of months ago. It was quick, refined, well made, the interior was a very nice place to be.
But if I'm honest I thought the best place for a TT was on the motorway. It would keep up...
Sold my TT last week and decided I either wanted a 172 Cup or a black PH1. Ended up buying the below on Saturday.
2001 Y reg
59k with FSH, belts done a year ago.
HPI Clear
Toyo Proxes all round with 7mm tread.
Taxed and MOT'd
I've since given it a clean/wax and she has come up very well...
You "hate" them Cat? Would you be physically sick if I drove past you in your Laguna.
No I'm not keen either, like I say they are just on as the RS4's are getting refurbed, I'm thinking of having them done in a dark metalic silver. Then I'm either going to sell the S8's on (which would cover...
That's stunning Gstar!
But with mine it seems to average 25mpg when I'm commuting, so 12 miles in traffic on 30/40 zones. As soon as I do abit of motorway driving it goes up into the 30's.
I don't think servicing costs are too bad, I could be wrong though.
The service I had done was all of the below.
Oil filter, air filter, cabin filter, haldex filter, h3 bulb, 2x CV boots, 4 spark plugs, haldex oil, engine oil, brake fluid. They also tightened up some pipe work related to the...
Mines got Xenon's, they were an option as Laura states.
Cheers Chris I'm going to look into getting one I think, it does improve the back end! What were those wheels on yours fitted to originally, not seen them on a TT?
Mine has covered 128,000 miles and doesn't bother me in the slightest...
I do like the V6 diffuser Chris, how do you fit that? I may be getting a company car so the TT might be on it's way. But if I don't stay in my current role then it's getting lowered and possibly remapped.
Im 5ft 10 and to be honest the back seats are useless in terms of carrying people. My girlfriend who's a size 6/8 and 5ft 5 sat in the back a couple of weeks ago and wasn't happy at all. No leg room and she had to sit with her head at an angle because of the back window, there was a thud when I...
I thought you got a free one and then for £50 they covered any work needed for it to pass, and the way I read it, it was only on a cars first MOT? I've just booked it in a place next to where I work, but if Audi will do it and guarantee any work that needs doing I'd be much better off going there.
Cheers Waitey, I'll keep an eye out for that. It's going in for it's MOT in the morning actually, fingers crossed!
Remap'd I think you'd get between 260-270 I think.
Yeh I've noticed that. I suppose if you are looking to move on from a 172 and have a couple of grand on top of what you'd get for your clio a TT isn't a bad move.
I don't think it's broken, just had major service. Has been plugged into VAG diagnostics and the only fault that cam back was reported to an airbag, reset it and hasn't come back.
25mpg commuting on 30s/40s seems to be about average from what I've read on TT-forum. Were you going off the on...
I suppsose it's the stopping and starting on my daily commute that gets the mpg down. On a motorway run it will do mid 30's.
Have you compared a lap time in a 225 TT to say a 172 cup Dave? I really didn't think there wouldn be a great deal in it.
