Must be those Hankook V12's ;) My TR1's have been fine. Albeit I haven't drove my car for 4 days since I have Swine Flu.
I don't like the sound of spinning up in 3rd though. Where you driving hard or just normally?
Re: N/W Xmas Meet
I'm up for anything. A date would be nice though so people, myself included, can try and arrainge it with work etc.
Last years Xmas meet was realy good.
This whole 172 v 182 debate is going on a lot recenty. It seems certain people think a 182 is far faster than a 172. It must be its a bigger number
lol how do you still have a licence Martin? I'm too unlucky and like my licence. Thinking of doing airfield day because I realy want to see what my car will do.
I'd push for a 200 Cup. Can be had for around £12.5K. They're a lot more car that you may be happy with for longer.
Twingo RS's are great little cars though. They can be had for £9-9.5K at around 6 months old with the remainder of the warranty etc remaining.
Edit: Can't find any anymore at...
Well put it this way i've not had less than 32mpg out of a tank in my ph1. I don't tickle it around everywhere either. Albeit I don't rev it to the limiter all the time, because a lot of the time you don't have the space to or your going to be in trouble with the law.
The main thing I miss...
It depends on what type of driving your doing. I'm sure you can get over 40mpg and go over 2K no problem. When doing my IAM runs, by driving properly and smoothly, I could use the full rev range of the engine and return nearly 50mpg out of my 1.2 16V, albeit the TCE has a turbo but on the other...
Mine has a flat spot at around 2.8K when first started once warmed up a bit it pulls nice and smootly. The 1*2's run realy poorly on startup. Maybe a remap would help.
If your understeering your not driving properly.
Call me a fan boy if you will however all I will say is if its that bad sell up and get a MK4 Golf. Perfect car for you by that statement or maybe a Bently as your clearly too good to drive a 'horrid french' car.
FFS.
Re: Thoughts/advice on my first car advert please
I'd go for £3500. Whats the worst that can happen. People don't want it. In which case you reduce the price. At the end of the day you have a car people want to buy. If it was a 1.2 16V you would be lucky to get the good side of £2500.
I like it. For some reason I think of the GTI's are more of a cruiser than hot hatch, I think its the looks, torquey but not particually revvy engines, availability of 5 doors and auto box.
Despite this i'd still have one. Its a car that can do everything well.
