Mines on about 72.5K. I got it on 70100, by the time it got back from Dorset it was 70350.
I'm hoping to see it go over 100K. I don't think that will happen though. I don't do enough mileage, would take me about 4 years by which time it will probably have fallen apart.
Even if the car only gets 25mpg during the week its still only going to cost him a fiver to get to work and back all week. Low mileage and low mpg arnt a problem. Its high mileage and low mpg thats the problem.
In reply to the OP I would get what you want and can affort.
Driving experience is valuable but on the otherhand I have seen peole who have been driving for decades, badly. But always quote how long they've been driving for. Same with anything I.e. Work, if your young you can never be better...
I accept your point. I understand you can crash anything. However people making comments that if you drive a 1*2 under the age of about 21 you will crash because its simply not true.
Even if you do crash it may not be down to what car you drive. For example I do most of my driving in town...
Are you on glue? For a start you don't know about his driving attitude or abilities and secondly they are not a supercar.
There are loads of members on here with 1*2's at 19, myself included, some have had them at 17.
Looks like an awesome day. I've only ever browsed Pistonheads, are people with relitavely normal cars like hot hatches, sports cars etc welcomed on their meets or is it exotica only?
Good to see you got it back mate.
I got key cover for £12 with my insurance. I'm fully covered for replacement of my car keys plus any other keys attached to it.
I don't take it out of a night out anyway.
Thats the main problem with the ring. It seems like there are different levels of talent and cars there. The M3 was obviously going to be flying around and it could have been the Mini drivers first time so being careful etc.
It doesn't seem like a track where you can take your time and travel...
Your right 100% mate. I feel like my 172 is no better than my 1.2 was a lot of the time.
Its when you get them on the B roads you realise how good they are and you wonder why you ever doubted it. A few days later and the cycle beggins again. I need to move to the country.
ITG Maxogen air filter mate. Its a fully enclosed filter with CAF's. They're about £300 though.
PH1 airboxes are a lot better than PH2 airboxes. Hence why a lot of PH2 owners change to either a PH1 or Espace V6 airbox.
I double de-clutch down the box contantly. I did in my 1.2 aswell. I'm hoping that along with trying to keep the shifts smooth will keep the box from breaking.
So far the only problems I have is a cruch when quick shifting from 3rd to 4th at high revs and sometimes when stopped it wont go...
If has his heart set on power then why not save a bit for for ITB's? Your looking at £1700 for cams, map and ITB's. ITB's can be had for £2800ish fitted. £1100 is a lot of money but they make proven gains.
If ITB's arn't wanted then I wouldn't bother with the 182 ITG filter. Get either a ph1...
Definately. The cams will need mapping to get the proper gains anyway.
Expensive job though cams. You need them mapping, new cambelt etc fitting.
Your probably better, in reality, not bothering with the cams and getting coilovers. Something that will actually make a difference other than a...
Its looking good this meet Naith. Think i'll join a convoy. I'll probly just try and bump into you all at the Ashton junction though, i'm not going to Lymm to jump back on the M6 where it goes within abou 3 miles of my house.
If he gets an RS Tuning remap it may be time to start worrying. They get around 120bhp and 250nm out of the 88bhp 1.6 tdci iirc.
The GT's have a seriously nice interior. Do they rev all the way around to 7250rpm?
Toby you have cruise control nice! Time to get a CS membership though!
