Lee, is the Linder the new main flagship hotel that almost overlooks the Grand Prix circuit?
if so, that's we're we stayed last year, it's certainly a nice hotel.
Other clio's, I'd probably say Porkies, I just like the car and its been well thought out with what it does/doesn't need and it's as near as damn where I'll be aiming on taking mine to as the following months come and go.
Other cars, again Porkies, this time the exige, I love them and think...
Re: Nurburgring trip advise
Chip, do you know who of the guys you normally speak to at Keith Micheals?
one of my longest standing close mates has worked as a part of the company pretty much since they were founded, I could always have a word with him come policy renewal time ;)
they/he looks...
I have H&R spacers on both the focus and the clio.
the clio ones are only 5mm tho, as I wanted to retain the use of the standard centre point, and not space out to far as the fronts can already rub on the inner arch fixing points under hard load, which needed a little manipulation.
i agree...
Chip, was that the RSR you had on yours when we were at the ring?
we run our clio on the standard 182 wheels with a typically average road tyre for all conditions when on the road and to/from trackdays.
then the black 2118's (purchased off Mark (Space Cadet) a week before we went to the ring)...
Changing from a 205/45 to a 195/45 still has the same 45 profile ratio.
your actually opting for a skinnier tyre with the same 45 profile.
a 195/45 has a sidewall height of 87.75mm
a 205/45 has a sidewall height of 92.25mm
Spotted this morning, or more along side me in the traffic coming around Morden towards Wimbledon at 07:45 this morning.
only really took note of it as I've always had a soft spot for these.
nice young lady driving aswell from what I could see :)
Sportlines are great for road use, maintaining a decent level of comfort and great handling characteristics, far superior in my option than going for budget coilovers.
they are also pretty good on track aswell.
id be inclined to go for a set of them with the ARB for a decent compromise all round.
Im running toe to the factory settings and 1 deg camber for now.
still lovely for driving to/from trackdays and felt lovely for me for a good dozen laps at the ring last weekend.
this is a starting point for me tho, as time progresses I will experiment with settings that suit me :)
Never had a problem with mates borrowing my cars, even last weekend a mate took my FRS to the ring, he daftly clipped a wheel getting off of the tunnel and then proceeded to beat himself up over it for the following 4 days.
End of the day it's a wheel and it happens, nothing a couple of days...
Re: Our ring and spa report (3 TF days, 1 trackday at ring, 1 trackday at spa) Pics/V
Chip, only just spotted this after one of the lads we were with (the lad driving the focus for me) mentioned he spotted your write up on PF.
good to see you again after such a long time, glad you got the...
Running AST's, Pure motorsport top mounts and brace, Whiteline rear ARB.
Just waiting on the front lower arm strengthening and bearing kit, aswell as the rear beam strengthening and bearing kit.
Not sure what to do after that, time will tell :)
195/50/15 are the correct tyre size for those wheels.
they wont give you a stretched tyre look, but in my opinion the 2118's are not the type of wheel to try and achieve that look with.
Ktec coilovers, I'd try going direct to them and see if they offer an overhauling service, it probably won't be as much as you think if they only need to renew a couple of seals and then presurise the strut.
but it would be inclined to have both fronts done at the same time as a matching pair.
Cheers Mark.
the lower arms we have are brand new, so probably ideal for the job, and just last week replaced the steering arms and track rod ends anyhow.
i didn't order these extra Pure Motorsport items when I should have done back when I spoke to you, but I'm more than happy with the pure...
Martin, as above, you will be fine.
we have ours setup with the track wheels on just for peace of mind, but happily change between wheels for road use to drive to/from trackdays.
I'm just after opinions from those that have fitted the Pure motorsport front wishbone bearing and strengthening plates, and also the rear axle bearing conversion kit along with the stiffening profile kit.
have you felt the benefits from the outlay and work involved in fitting them.
good value...
Worryingly, they are a 100% perfect fit on the standard rear shocks aswell.
unless for some daft reason the 182 cup rear shocks are a couple of mm thinner :(
Top Marques in Coulsdon can get them if your after somewhere local to purchase/fit them for you.
other than that, Camskill, my Tyres etc.
Just remember to cost in fitting if you buy them online elsewhere, some places can charge a fortune if you haven't bought the tyres from them.
He was about to go away to Donnington for a good few days when I spoke to him last.
and with so many people claiming to be running decent coilovers I couldn't have been the first to encounter this issue so hoped someone could have simply said ill be okay without the collar or that I need a part...
