Re: Insurance. Fookers! (young 172/182 owners look in)
I'm dreading getting insurance quotes for a 172. Going to start soon though 19, 2NCB, 2 years experience, no points and IAM.
Hopefully somebody will come up with a decent quote though, i'll be going through the list in this thread and...
A dci 80 would be a fair bit quicker than a mk2 1.2 16v however the dci 86 is probably exactly the same as the mk2 1.2 16v, maybe a bit more over 80ish.
I've driven the dci 86 and it felt no faster than my mk2 1.2 16v, however to be fair it only had about 15 miles on the clock so was no where...
I had a lot of respect for the dci's but my gf's mums breaks a lot tbh. Its got FSH and under 50,000 miles but things seem to go wrong a lot. Nothing serious but just niggles like blocked ERG valves etc.
They're pretty nippy though.
Don't tint the windows its chav, you'll regret it in the end.
Clear side repeaters from an 04> model would be good too mate.
Great plans for it though, I had a deposit on one exactly the same but it was broken before I picked it up lol
I've worked out if I get one it would be circa 40% of my base salary before overtime etc. I have no other sicnificant outgoings so that isn't too bad tbh. Thats insurance, tax and petrol (probably an over estimate too works out 925 miles @ 35mpg and I normally do about 680).
Great write up tbh. I think somebody who rights an advert like that must realy love the car. Loved car = cared for car.
I'd buy it. Lend me 81K anybody?
Its in excellent condition. Which is suprising as every car I saw in Majorca last year was wrecked. They just bump into other cars when parking etc, its common practice.
You car's in this months fast car, I bought it in manchester airport first time i've read it, its a decent magazine. Car looks good, loved the R5GTT it was against too.
