Birchdown do belt changes for £435 not sure how much for a service but they do cheap belt changes and come highly reccomended, might be worth giving them a ring.
Update: Brentacre want £2400, ChrisKnott said they would love to beat the quote but couldn't because I had no previous experience on a performance car.
Also directline came back with the renewal on my 1.2 @ £1127.
Looks like flux will be the best option at the minute.
Lol thats the stupidest story i've ever heard. Running away from her dad ok, but trying to outrun a nieghboor in a car just seems stupid.
All you had to do was stop, tell him whats gone on and drive off. He obviously caught you anyway because you crashed.
Epic fail imo.
Imo FSH is essential. It also needs belts done or price compensated accordingly.
Basically just pay £10, read the guide its perfect. I'll be printing it off and taking it with me when looking for 172s.
Makes a huge difference. If I put down I work in a bookmakers or as a cashier is a fair bit more expensive than putting down customer service assistant.
My actual job title on my employment contract is CSA (customer service assistant) so who am I to argue.
I had a scooter wrote off on 23rd Jan 07 it was insured untill 30th Aug 07 I had paid up front was only a couple of hundred quid I didn't get around to cancelling it. I got the years NCB did nothing with it for a year then used it on my car insuance policy with directline and saved about...
I'm after a ph1 because I don't want to have to stretch to afford the car tbh. I like the fact I can attempt to work on it myself without worrying about resale value etc so I can learn aswell.
I'm looking forward to the rawness of a ph1 however the main thing i'm dreading is the hastle of...
Excellent car mate. Realy interesting. Would you consider a gearbox swap? The ratio's seem a little short i.e. you can't reach 100kph in 2nd and your getting towards the limiter at 210kph in top gear.
I haven't driven a dci 80 only passanger but they seem a fair bit quicker than a 1.2 16v. I remember the 1st time my gf put her foot down full in 2nd coming off a roundabout I was shocked at how well it picked up. Ok it's not 172 speed or anything like it however i'd rather have a dci than any...
Its something i'm definately going to try when I get my 172. I think that to make it look realy good you need some bucket seats though. Having a stripped rear then two armchairs up front doesn't quite make sense to me. However money doesn't grow on tree's and I would do it with a long term plan...
Well i'vr already though about this, I won't be scraping together, i've done a fair bit of saving will have a fair bit of spare money too.
I know what you mean though, things can go wrong, all I can do realy is ensure I get one with belts done, FSH and drives well because things can go wrong...
I forgot to add thats on a modified policy with exhaust and phase 2 lights and rub strips.
Also thats with 2 Non-fault claims on the policy too.
Pepsi - I'm the same as you, wouldn't claim and am a careful driver anyway, accidents do happen though but if the worst comes to the worst i'll...
As above. Based on 19, 2 years expeience, 1NCB, IAM and owners club member.
£1554 tpft with Flux. I'm going to try brentacre and a few others tomorrow but I feel thats a decent price to start with and I would pay that if knowbody else beats that.
I know its only tpft but a lot of younger...
