I love the old F1 engines, Granted, the engines blew up after a race or so but they could hit 1300 to 1500 BHP all from 1.5 ltrs. 50 to 60psi of boost!
As you say nick, although the car had had loads of work carried out, at the end of the day it is 15 (??) odd years old, so things can wear out, and unfortunately on what was a 40k car new it can get expensive, but saying that it has no doubt added value to it
Everything we discussed and went through, iv done nowt lol :D
I want to chuck a new lambda in it really too, just need to find somewhere that sells them at a reasonable price
Flol! Nutters, the lot of ya
I would like them in by Llandow mate, but to be honest I very much doubt il have the time to get everything done, bear in mind in needs a set of ARP's, plus the cams fitted, I still need to match my spare inlets, move my battery to the boot and get it mapped...
Don't worry mate haven't forgot, just been super busy with a ton of stuff at home and looking after little man - thanks for asking mate, he is on the mend, but the cold/flu he has means as soon as he lays down he gets all choked up with fhlem/runny nose and ends up chocking :( so still sat up...
IMO il be suprised if it comes of anything mate - we are hearing bits and pieces come through, but I can only really see it viable if the GTi cab really takes off, then a higher powered version might be a good seller - unsure if they could keep the 4wd mind, as im really unsure what the boot...
They are a good upgrade only on price really mate, I doubt they will give an increase as well as the cats, but on the flip side as fitting isn't a problem, they should be in and mapped for under £350 - which should be a good gain bhp/£ as most cams are £500+ new and at very least £200 second hand :)
what rpm does the car produce it's max power and torque?
you do know to go as fast as the car will go doesn't mean you hold each gear until it has reached the max rpm it can pull right?
Agree with Danny, Mobile one seems to burn off very quicky - no idea why as I have not looked into Mobile one's data sheets, but it seems to.
As said, some fully synthetic 5w 40 should see it be a bit better IMO
NorthWest Performance - a garage with not a greeat reputation.
Ktec have mixed reactions on here, Im not going to start an arguement so just do some research on whatever place you choose, use the search function and see what you can find
You would need to remove the cambelt, as the rocker cover and cams need to come out mate.
Thing is, some can use oil - what oil do you use? How many miles did you do using this 1 ltr?
