Best thing to do is speak to Tom at JMS, he was the one that put me in contact with the chap
You have a pm.
Cheers Jay, will get onto this as this would be handy to get done and out of the way. Will give you and Tony a pm over the next few days regarding some issues/questions.
Cheers
Nick
Lol. So yourself is going to Bedford? ;) Will you have the TroFail fixed in time?
Not sure on whether we'll be there tbh, after Chris was sent a pm from Timmyevo6 on here about various other things that weren't said that might affect the fitting of the suspension itself. We'll have to see how...
So about this good (epic ;)) update!
Mike at Edwards Motorsport called me up on yesterday to say that he'd finished the cage, pretty impressive that in 4 days with lots of other cars he's knocked this up! Very impressed with the quality and hows its turned out, anyway some pictures! :)...
They do indeed, just the ones i'm getting also!
Cant wait for this to be done now and eventually be out on track, will be good to have a little tussle with this car! :)
I kind of agree with this chap, if they were 17's without the speedline stickers and the silver centre caps it would look perfect! Just looks like the wheels are too big!
Looks good though with the splitters but not the spolier, good choice with that! :)
So another little update, cars been at the fabricators now for only 2 days and a fair chunk of work has already been done! Went down there to talk to chap about various things he wanted to change for the better, me being me and seeing lots of cars on here with gussets and the A/B pillars and box...
It's something I'd like but will wait for a while, what I'm going to do is cut out lots of the metal work like the doors and boot. The doors really surprised me with how heavy they are so with a bit of chopping about and polycarbs I can save a good bit of weight there!
Lol same here Dave! Hours of fun climbing through it all ;)
Yeah James (JMS) said to trace every single wire as they may change somewhere!
I'm going to utilise the standard ecu, seeing as the RS-2 was designed with using it and me not wanting any more power with regards to lairy cams or...
Cheers, not following any wiring diagrams at all. Before I took the loom out I just labelled every plug/wire in the car and things like sterio/boot loom/airbag wiring+pretensioners etc etc can go. Anything to do with the clocks/lights/stalks/engine are all being left, just being careful to trace...
So another Update...
Started on thinning out the interior loom this evening starting from the rear of the car, not too hard of a job really just being patient instead of being chop happy makes things easier in the long run!
The start...
Came across this 3 times in just the rear part of...
Yes! The 2 OMP ones I had were poor, and I mean very poor that would of needed a lot of 'work' to make them fit!
When speaking to Mike at Edwards Motorsport (the person doing mine), he said that when a customer asked him to fit a premade cage the customer was confused as to why it would cost...
Righty so dont take this the wrong way, but I had a little bit of a clearup as it did turn into a what racecar to build/buy thread. It's for certaint that i'll be building the clio into a racecar and thats it, also tbf with the amount of interest shown into racing someone should open up a thread...
Totally agree with you Dan, this week and a little bit last i've been taking any uneeded brackets out of the car in the evenings after work and started on cutting down the loom. I look back and it looks like i've done nothing however in the end its all for a good cause! :)
Well... Currently using FK Konigsports, which I know probably arent great for racing and i'm probably going to need better suspension but i'm interested to see the difference in laps times between the setup im using and the AST setup that Burpspeed are using (56.7sec lap at Brands I think...
