Uprated poly exhaust mounts - how many interested?

Okay, so this is the later mount, yes? I've got one of these with the square end in already, from my brothers old 1.4, is this a ph1 version? Or is it the case that the smaller engine models do actually have a different mount and not just rubber bush differences?

Not many around? Pity, that's the easy one! :D

Uprated poly exhaust mounts - how many interested?

Yeah, that Ph2 twisted one is the one I've seen, so they must both have been ph2's. If it's just rubber differences that's easy then.

Uprated poly exhaust mounts - how many interested?

Right guys, after few more requests, I'm looking at some dogbone bushes, I wasn't going to because there's a lot of them available, but after chatting with a few people about the vibrations levels and the thread last month about the same I know I can offer something far less harsh. However, the...

What have you done to your car today ???

Happens more often than you think with pins, I bet every race weekend there's a bonnet or two goes up from missing or loose pins. Mind in our sport that usually just means they jump on the bonnet until a pin goes in, kick the window out and put some goggles on.

    Rake & Dampening on Track

A little rake is usually just to stop underbody lift, and it gives a little more weight transfer at the rear, it's fine tuning basically. Also depends where you're sat in the travel available front to rear. As for dampening, well, I don't think you need the suspension wet, but as for the...

2 Stroke Oil mixed with Diesel

I'd like to read that, it was common to run 2 stroke oil through pumps for motorsport use when they took all the sulphurised lubes out of diesel for a while, I'd be amazed if there's any sort of issue with it given it's designed to run through pumps anyway.

Hey, at least your helpers can read. Mine sit in a corner chewing crayons.

You've a bit of powerflex stuff stuck at the bottom of the description there from the copy pasta ;)

What have you done to your car today ???

Oops, lad down the road from me did that last week in a Punto - although in his case it buckled all the front edge of the roof as well, was a right mess.

    Engine sensors. DTA S60 wiring

Air temp, water temp, etc, 2 pin sensors are usually just sensor earth to one side and signal the other pin, doesn't matter which way around for most of them as they're just resistors.

Who says you can't commute in a 172?

Here, I found the piece I wrote for another forum complaining about driving an S2000 as a daily....;) Now get back in your stripped french tin and press the throttle ;)

Who says you can't commute in a 172?

Pfft, I used to commute in a stripped peugeot with completely rose jointed/needle bearing'd suspension, stiff dampers, rattly floating discs, solid engine mounts, a quick rack with no PAS and load of camber and castor and no air-con. A 172 would be ideal as a commuter car. I'm with @Goodj You...

What have you done to your car today ???

Yes, I've got a GT6 outside but it's been stood 30 years so I don't think there'll be any balljoint boot left to measure. Sizes will need to be fairly good because they're a lot harder than the usual soft rubber ones, so they don't stretch as much.

    Welding lower uj joint?

That's not on the spline, that's inside the pinion housing where the shuttle lives.

Crash helmets, where to buy from?

Nah, for track use you're fine with open, unless you're incredibly unlucky and something comes off a car in front.

Crash helmets, where to buy from?

I wear closed face for safari's, I've seen a branch come through a windscreen and punch a hole in the bulkhead between the driver and co-driver - screw that for the sake of wearing a full face. I do have a Hedtec Demon HANS (albiet no hans posts fitted) I might sell this year but again it's a...

KAM Racing - go silly or dont bother project build

GSF do some epic deals sometimes if you get the right person when you phone*, but most of the time their prices for discs and pads are meh. *I just got a valeo clutch for the V6 from them for £50 delivered 'cause it was old stock...

    Air con pipe replacement

:D Yes, JB weld isn't going to work on a pressurised ac pipe. Even if it lasted to start with the refrigerant would have degraded it anyway, you need to either swap the pipe, have someone solder/braze over the hole, or have a repair piece let in.

What have you done to your car today ???

Polyurethane, I needed some custom sized ones for the buggy. They're not something I really make to sell but if you send me the sizes I'll do you a couple to try.

Made colour coded balljoint boots. Worth +10bhp in McDonald's car parks.

    Water wetter

That's why a lot of race cars run just water with a bottle or two of WW or something similar. Most of our racers only run about a 25-30% antifreeze/water mix because that gives most of the cooling benefit but with decent frost, etc, protection - so we don't crack a block overnight in parc ferme...

KAM Racing - go silly or dont bother project build

If it's just a gearkit you'll be okay, it's their sequentials and diffs that are a bit clunky.

Center caps for Renault 19 16v Turbines ? Pic

There's not much I can't make to be honest, unless you're wanting a bionic arm....and even then I could probably get something functional :D Yes, they're just clip in ones with lugs on the back.

Center caps for Renault 19 16v Turbines ? Pic

I can do custom plastic ones, I did some a year or two back for the rare Euno's centres, 'cause a good set of originals is about 80-100 quid:

Why do most people rave about polybush dog bones?

I can do progressive/internally damped poly lower that would barely vibrate more at idle, etc, than an OE one would, even if it was much stiffer on the throttle - but there's no way I could compete with the guys doing £30-40 mounts - they're not making much money at that even with cheap OTC...
