Ian, I thought the cup racers had small purpose built tanks , didn't realise they use standard. Also just twigged your user name and car thread d'oh

I not sure they are upto it , they look too thin and all the holes may catch on something. A smooth ones best as it will skid over things rather than snag. The tank guard doesnt seem an easy fit either and would be a right pain to get out to have a kevlar one made.

If you went Gen90 with an eye on selling it on at a later date you would have a smaller market to sell in ( assuming the plug only fits clio's) as opposed to EC1 etc

A bit of interest here then, I think the sump guard could be a home made jobbie but would need to have a good look under the rear as they may need a bit more bending etc

If its for competition fit one after suspension and brakes leave any engine mods until last , if it's just for trackdays I wouldn't bother just spend it on doing plenty of them.

Picking some up tomorrow but the wider fitting ones, last time I tried an omp mount it wasn't wide enough as it pushed the seat more into the middle of the car so I fitted the seat through the floor. Will let you know how I get on.

Looking at doing single venue rally's next year where's best (cheapest!) place to get them ? Demon want £300 ish for sump guard ! Cheers

Years ago when I was rallying mini's , some people were lightening flywheels past the limit and some went with a similar bang except the flywheel sometimes tried to come through the floor! On a mini if you didn't know that was right between your legs gulp!

You need new bolts for the fywheel aswell.
