When you have an accident the fuel cut off switch pops up in basic terms.

Just take the test in your instructor's car. You are going to be nervous enough as it is without worrying about not knowing the biting point, size and all the other crucial parts of driving a car as it is.

An MOT tester will drive the car though, even if you park it in the MOT bay, they still have to move it for a brake test.

I could honestly say that I wouldn't put a claim in because I'm not a dishonest person. It just goes against my morals and seeing people encourage others to be dishonest causing other people to pay more really annoys me.
