brake pads - should i let renault do them as part of service?

Any garage can service your car as long as genuine parts are used and they are VAT registered. Your not tied to your dealer for anything other than warranty work, you have a choice now as the rules changed over the last few years. Same applies for brakes etc. Have a look on the forum as...

    Broken Blower

The resistor is 68+vat, but check the connections to the fan, you can get your hand down the gap. There is a choice on them, so best check with your local dealer, if it a BEHR resistor then they are approx 25 from GSF.

What Brand Tools Do you Prefer/use?

I use whatever, mostly Signet/draper/snap on/Mac tools As to screwdrivers usually buy cheap one as the do exactly the same job as the Snap-on ones do but at a fraction of the price. Snap-on stuff is so expensive and I just can't justify spending £100+ on a set of sockets. Maybe I'm tight. lol

    Xenon bulb holder help needed!!

Take the the Xexon bulb holder out, the bulb should stay in place, have a look at the holder and you will see were the wire goes, they are fiddly but if you know the position to put it back in it helps loads.

    1) just joking about the sump washer but in this case its probably the reason behind it or a loose sump plug. 2) The story behind Shermy is.....when I started working for Renault many many moons ago the nutty professor was on telly, and cause I'm not exactly slim they started calling me...
