It's getting there slowly but surely... You're not having it though - I'm only just getting started! :rasp:
Took it back to my parents new house today - some awesome roads round there! Even with s**te tyres on, it takes quite a bit of provoking in the form of a good clutch kick to get the back...
You'd be surprised! It's not so much the top of the tyre that rubs on the arch liners, its the inside that you can't see.
Anyway, just take a wheel off and have a look - it'll be quite clear where its been rubbing!
I imagine they just leave the arches because there's no need for them to be rolled - standard wheels are so narrow there's no way they'd ever come close to the arches. RS Clios come with ready rolled rear arches, the fronts still have the arch lips though.
Best thing to do is just to lower it...
Yeah, you can't roll the fronts because they're plastic. I just chopped/sanded the lip off - then cut some of the bumper/wing bracket off as that got in the way. I had 25mm spacers on at the time, so you should probably be fine tbh.
I had 16" old style SuperTurismo's at one point (in the...
Fair one. I rolled my arches with a hammer (and cut a s**t load out of the rear bumper) and it sat like this on 16's:

I'd just get some smaller wheels and spray the whole wheel green - coloured lips generally don't look that great IMO. I think that's maybe...
I've had lower than that and mine was hardly what I'd call 'low' these days...

I think you should try the "less is more" approach. Seems to work well on Clios.
It's mental isn't it - the arches which have completely misshapen are probably the worst... I've not looked under the sill plates in the door shuts yet, but I'm expecting proper holes!
Meh, keep it for a year, save up for a nicer one, transfer the nice parts I buy. Sorted!
175/50/14 small...
This could fit in a Trophy's arch gap, and I still could pitch up a tent with room to spare. True story; I'll show you at CSS.
Still not cleaned it BTW ;)
Just to piss goodj off:

Can't remember spacer sizes, something like 25mm on the front and 15mm on the back?
I think I made a good choice with this wheel colour. Just need to get that front f**king wheel off now!

Just need to do the other three now... :coffee:
+1 on this. My old white one came with a windblocker (basically a flimsy bar with some netting) and I was amazed at how effective it was!
It did look s**t though.
Hmmm, might have to look into that then!
Fingers crossed. Going to just buy them outright now I reckon - won't be tied to them if it gets pinched again or anything...
Yeah - think they're exactly the same in that respect. Separate height, damper and preload adjustment - just softer springs...
Ahhhh! :o Wondered how you knew! Not sure yet, nothing really decent on is there...
Just boggo MX5 ones. Nuts are nuts, this is a shed - as long as I can get them off and tighten them back up again, I'm not arsed!
I always thought the best way to go about it was to get bolt on ones? Longer studs make me think it would be a weaker set up?
They're not exactly cheap at £150!
I suppose when you think about it that way it kind of makes sense. Weird one! Not sure how much of a pain it would be to get out...
