Have you decatted your 182? Just plug the hole for the second lambda (an old one works) but leave the working lamda plugged in and cable tie it above the heatshielding so it reads 'clean' air.
Light will go out in a week or so :)
Have a quick search on here, I am sure there is a guide to remove it.
Its a black brick(ish) sized block between the drivers side wheel arch and the front bumper.
From what I read on here, most 'ticking' symptoms tend to be caused by the carbon cannister.
Does the noise sound like its coming from the drivers side wheel arch? If so that could be your problem.
The phase 1 gear knob is much, much nicer to use and I swear it has a shorter throw.
I have a skoda splitter sitting here but I amundecided whether to put it on...

I changed the whole gear lever assembly over rather than hacking off my old one. Just 4 nuts and 1 bolt for the linkage iirc, easy peasy.
