Out of interest mate, what design rear brace is yours? As the way the rear suspension set up is in the Clio, I can't see any way a strut brace would umprove it?

VVT cuts in at circa 1400 rpm, and out at 6500 iirc - has nothing to do with the surge you feel at 5000rpm - in basic terms 'the 5k kick' is where the engine reaches volumetric efficiency and produces good power. If your engine is a good one, it should be producing around 170-175 bhp...
