If they've got as far as getting the resistor pack out they're only a few bolts and wiring plugs away from taking the blower motor out.

I'd disagree on the cambelt front, I found it easier on a classic scooby than my 306 1.9 td! Spark plugs are a bit of an arse but not too bad once you learn the knack.
The 6 speed scooby boxes are tough, my friends 450-500bhp classic did countless launches with 1 bar of boost off the line and never seemed to grumble. The thing would launch so hard even in 2nd.
Try being 6ft 5", I'd love to sit lower! I'd also like the gearstick further back as it feels like I'm at full stretch going for 3rd and 5th with the seat all the way back.
I've had Uniroyal rainsport 2s (albeit in 195/50/15) on a set of ph1 wheels since around Xmas.
I originally had the wheels fitted to my mx5 and they completely transformed it, especially in the wet.
I also did two trackdays on them both in the bone dry (brands and a very harsh concrete keevil)...
So over the weekend I removed the blower motor/loom/resistor and bench tested it and it works fine, same with the washer pumps/motors. I also checked all the relays and as far as I could tell everything was ok so god knows what's up!?
After doing all this checking the car now won't start...

I picked up my first 172 yesterday and its got a couple of electrical faults.
Firstly the washer jets (windscreen and lights) don't work, checked all fuses pump/ Motor doesn't make any noise is it dead?
Also the heater motor doesn't work, I've read about the resistor packs...
