Re: CRASHED LAST NITE RAGINGGGG
I've made a decision.
November to March is officially being changed from Cup Killing Season to Non RS Mk3 Killing Season.
Sorry to hear it matey but they're going down like 10 pins atm.
Get it done, its extremely unwise to neglect cambelt changes.
For a start it will be very hard to sell in the future if it hasn't been done and you are risking wrecking a almost new 28K engine.
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
The valver box is almost brand new aswell so has plenty of life left in it. Are they strong enough to run a 172 engine with mods in the future i.e. ITB's
As above, fog lights would make it look much better. Not meaning to cause offense but the non foglight clio's make the front look ugly to me tbh.
Nice car though mate.
If everything else is mechanically sound on the car then i'd get the work done.
To be honest Ian its not worth loosing all the money you spent on the car, and the extra money for insurance for the sake of £400, in the end you will be loads more down than if just got the head gasket done...
Completely different cars tbh.
To drive on track or down a B Road i'd choose the Meggy. If i had to have one for everyday it would be the Vee, one of the best looking cars ever tbh, then theres the sound...
I like the black wheels mate. Everybody seems to be going for white wheels on RB now, which is my fav colour tbh but if everybody did it then they would all look the same.
Another 1.2 modding can of worms.
I personally haven't modded mine because I want to save up for a 172.
Plenty have modded non RS's and they have looked even better than RS's tbh i.e. f0xy's MK2, Bloors Mk2, Brembo's MK2, Biohazards Mk3........
Basically if you do it right then you will...
You won't see massive gains unless going to ITB's but modding will change the driving experience i.e. a decat will make it more free revving, remap will smooth power etc.
Hmm thats looking like write off material to me, could have done untold damage to the allignment of the car etc.
Sorry to hear it though mate, terrible thing happened to me this time last year, back went in the wet, only hit a wall though not too much damage.
