has the clio 172s killed off the saxo VTSs

There realy isnt a great difference, especially under about 70, after then the RS clio will ull away. Assuming both cars are standard.

Why tyres you running mate, i've only had bad understeer once this winter thats on budget tyres aswell (mistake buying them). I know you have, erm, 105bhp more than me :o buy surely it only makes as much power as you put your foot down.

    Woody Woodpecker at 1,200rpm.....

Think all clio's do it judging by all of the posts above mate from 1.2 through to 2.0 i'm certainly not worried by it anyway, you have my solution above anyway ;)

    Clio 1.6 16v Exhaust System

Don't bother turbo'ing it. Just buy a 1*2 the 1.6 turbo will cost far more to buy/build, insure, run etc. Check out k-tecracing for exhausts.

Ph-Quick - WTF is it all about?

+1 Ph1 has better looks than a ph2 172 imo, looks far more aggressive. The rear leaves much to be desired but nothing a ph2 bumper and spoiler can't sort out.

    Woody Woodpecker at 1,200rpm.....

if i hold my car between 1-1.6k i get this tappety noise aswell. Been doing it for over a year now, i'm not worried about it though, the only time you notice it is driving along in 1st gear holding it between 1-1.6ishK in traffic etc. I just put the radio on when it happens.

    Mk3 1.2 TURBO

Because it can provide the power of a 1.4, torque of a 1.6 with the economy of a 1.2. That is how renault market it, makes sense tbh, there will be a lot more small turbo charged engines coming on the market in the near future. The 1.4 TCE will be going in the new megane to replace the 2.0 N/A...

New Year, New Bits so some New Pics

Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project [Year 3 - Engine and Chassis Rebuild]

Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project Took the plunge on Brun's car then jord? Didn't think you could cope with a 106 1.5D. Its a realy nice car I used to see it when he worked at motorworld daily. Will give you time to sort out your valver. Good move tbh. Where you going to keep your valver then? When...

    Vandalised! Paint stripper

Hopefully you will be able to find a cheap respray mate. Lad I know had his car done like this on maccies carpark (we both worked there part time at the time) and managed to get it done for £700 and it was a decent job too. Realy feel for you though, what winds me up about insurance is its...

    Ally's 30th present - new car content :-)

Lad I know has the 2.2 SE. Feels very solid handling and feels quick, seems to have a decent amount of torque low down. So i can only presume that the 3.0 M Sport is far better in every way. Good upgrade mate, very nice indeed.

My old 172 in arnold clark

Sorry to hear about your parents mate. Lot of respect for you for changing your car in order to look after them. I'm sure you will be able to get another renaultsport at some point in the future. Maybe a meggy R26 they're a bigger more comfortable car.

    Vandalised! Paint stripper

Was way out of order to do that, I know that taxi drivers get a lot of people running off on fares and everytime someone does its straight out of they're pocket, so you can imagine he would be a bit mad but this is taking it a bit far. Personally i'd try and find him and get some sort of...

    Green Clio 182

Awful colour imo. It was the other £1200 id colour along with liquid yellow.

    1.2 turbo or dci 86?

I test drove both back in july when i was thinking of changing. The diesel felt gutless to me tbh, just as slow as my 1.2 16v MK2 didn't make me want to drive it again tbh. The TCE however was a lot better imo it had a bit of punch and just made me feel happier than the derv. However I would...
