You can have it there, or it unclips, as does the mount it sits on, so you have a 'normal' dash

Agree with Dan, if the headgasket is done correctly then it wont need to be done again. Great fun cars, chassis are brilliant but as said you will be lucky to get 175bhp with breathing mods.

Well had about 4 hours on the Golf today, been consentrating on the n/s sill, and from last week we had the main part of the sill on, what we had to finish today is a bit of plating on the floor. Got all the underseal off (took ages!) and got the repair plates on the floor - corrosion gone, so...

Il do a write up on the dsg for you later. The map will get you more like 245-250 - you dontcwanna be putting much more through the turbo. get a decent panel filter too, they help. oh the tartan seats are standard, i prefere them over the leather.

Got Claires Mk5 finished, but been so busy with my own business iv not had time for the VR, though I did have a few hours last staurday and have most of one sill done - the rear half of the sill is fine, it's where previous numpties have jacked it up and bent the jacking points on both sills...

Well at the end of the day its your choice dude, Id still not bother - for the tiny increase you may get in bhp, you will end up with a snappy throttle - but its your car! :)

Alot of work for no noticable difference - trust me iv been through it over the years, as has Fred, Danny and a lot of us. Some even loose power. Though are you talking about a 1*2 or 197 mate?

Agreed, the inlet is the factor you want to be working on, increasing the size of the tb will just make the throttle less progressive.
