Cracking looking car, plans sound good. Similar approach I've taken with me megane f1, got a track day booked at donnington next month and that'll hopefully highlight the car weaknesses and strengths and go from there
Yeah I was thinking of getting it sign written tbh "MEARS TURBO REMOVALS" haha
Yeah I normally do some firm applications leaving them time cool in between and then just take it steady for a few miles but I thought I'd follow the instructions this time haha
It's a shed alright but it's a rather fast one;)
Ferodo stated in the instructions that came with it 25-30 brake applications at 50% pedal pressure slowly bringing the vehicle to a stop, was handy as I was driving to derby through repton which has humps haha
So today I decided seeing as I finally had a bit of spare time I'd fit the bits that were gathering dust behind the sofa.
These were
Ferodo DS1.11 race front pads
Me Pink brake pins
And oil and filter
First things first I thought I'd crack on with the brakes. Now I've fell victim to these...
Right this ones puzzled me looking at a car for me mate basically it's been fine till one day when he stalled it and it hasn't wanted to start since.
I've checked the usual
Resistance checked Crank sensor about 240ohms
Checked all the fuses with the meter
All the engine bay relays are...
That cracking expansion bottle is a fairly common issue, I've changed quite a few over the years and now the cars are getting on a little I'd imagine there getting brittle.
Either way it's a nice car you got there?
Well progress been a little slow, been getting ready for me holidays and new job at work coupled with loads of work on other peoples cars but I have a small update
Finally got me paperwork off the DVLA to put me reg on the car, now it feels like me own haha
Also just booked me first proper...
Yeah this is it shag, you know I've changed me fair few dmf's in me time ;) I did suspect it but that was the only symtom
Yeah there's own one person I'll be getting a flywheel off haha, no doubt when I come back from Italy now haha
Now I was suspecting this too but I thought it would remain as the engine revs are increased from past experience. A little bit of throttle and it's non excitant. I'm going to go down the r26r solid flywheel and clutch before I even begin tinkering for more power
Really want to get to the...
Also noticed when I plugged the scanner in and started reading values the coolant temp sensor was showing 30 degrees
The car had been switch off for 9 hours and it was 7 in the morning, after further logging I think the inlets seem about right but I'm gonna go for another spin in a bit
Nah did it f**k mate, hence my suspicion pal. Gonna log it again on way home in morning
If it's the same I'll get the meter on it and resistance test it
That's a weird one mate, especially how it does it at stand still when turned off.
Your always welcome to pop over next week and I'll have a quick listen
I fly out to Italy on Friday
Right had me r26 f1 for a couple of months nearly now and loved it from the word go, great step up from a string of RS clios.
Now it had a few issues when I bought it nothing major, set of injectors (common chuffing) so I changed them.
Engine mounts causing vibrations, sorted that.
But...
Yeah the shop I bought the stereo off said they do the direct fit pioneer speakers which I will no doubt go for. I keep all the door drains unblocked but if needs be I may try and vacuum form a nice plastic enclosure
Had spare twenty minutes today so swapped the plugs so just the oil to change...
Yeah I didn't see many 1 series with those wheels until I bought ours, now every fucker has them haha.
Yeah I changed all the mounts and it's improved it now no end, still a small vibration but I think that's normal and I'm just being picky
No worries any time
So had a parcel today, nothing overly exciting just some service bits from Adam at Renault Wolverhampton
Spark Plugs
Oil
Oil filter
Pollen Filter
Also ordered some ferodo DS1.11 front pads from G172
Also popped up to see Dom at
shopnshine.co.uk
for some more detailing...
So I couldn't resist, sick of the standard Renault head unit and lack of connectivity so I bit the bullet and got myself a nice new pioneer unit from bass junkies in nearby Derby.
Main features I wanted out of the new unit.
Bluetooth connectivity
Aux/USB/iPod/sd card
Connectivity with car...
