Cheers mate, I'll give you a shout next week for some service bits. It's only been done 6 months ago but just want to do it for piece of mind ready for me road trip
Yeah the ramp that the megane is on is a nice bit of kit, has built in corner weights, a secondary lift that lifts the car off the ramp to lift the wheels off and ratchet points to strap the car down the measure bump steer
Well today I was working down at centre of gravity in atherstone changing a clutch and duel mass flywheel on a 330d for a friend who happens to work there and his farther in law owns the business.
There very well known and well regarded within the Porsche circles when it comes to geometry and...
Yeah it really has transformed the drive, I'll be keeping the stabilisers as spares but the rest will be in the bin.
Looks like Renault may have changed the design/materials too
Well today I woke up after me last night shift and thought I'd crack on and get these mounts changed before I head up the pub this afternoon.
Started with the lower stabiliser, nice to say I found no nasty surprises underneath too which is always a bonus.
Anyway I removed the reinforcement...
Cheers mate
I got a slightly irregular idle but more noticeable was the "coughing" from the exhaust.
Eventually I think they bring a light on and can cause fuel cut but mine weren't quite that bad but I don't do things by half so I just stuck a set in it.
I'm having the old ones cleaned and...
Well he's done it again, Adam @WolverhamptonRenault has done a sterling job.
Ordered the mounts yesterday and here this morning
Can't rate this guy enough, knows his onions and very competitively priced and a top bloke
So I missed the post man the other day so just popped into the sorting office just on me way home from work.
I had a suspicion it would be these
The redesigned Mr Pink brake pins, I had these on my old 197 and the design is much better and makes brake maintenance pretty much hassle free
Here you are seanpeat309
This is the part number for the seal repair kit from Renault that Tom was on about
770 138 9670
It's about 30 quid and can be done with the box in situ
Haha it soon will be ;)
Afraid not mate, it appears I'm on holiday in Italy when the oulton day is, this I fly back late that day iirc, shame cause I really want to do a day at oulton and that would of been ideal
Another pic with the sensible 1 series ;)
Well thought I'd post a few pictures of the ktec induction kit I fitted last week.
In terms of quality of the kit it's a nice fit and comes with a nice looking heat shield and a couple of mounts
Recovering the old airbox involved removing the battery and battery tray and swinging the ecu over...
Yeah I think it's a great stepping stone from the clio's, like I said it's nice to have the extra wave of torque the turbo gives you as you don't have to ring it's neck to make progress.
Also after speaking to a mate who's a regular track day nutter he's now buying one after seeing one in...
Window regs are common, as are swivel hub bearings, injectors and engine mounts.
Tbh just make everything electrical works as the scuttle drains and doors drains are common for blocking
Cheers mate ;)
Got a few more updates but got board of writing haha, just got some mr pink brake pins too so they'll be getting stripped this week
Looking at upgrading the front pads but not sure what to go for, I loved the ds2500 on the 197 but they seem to get mixed reviews on meg forum...
So thought it was about time I should start a little thread for the trophies replacement. After 5 years of fun filled clio sport ownership (172,197 and trophy) I had the sudden brain wave that I fancied a change. All sorts of replacements went through me head from r26's, e46 m3's, 130i's...
If I could of kept it I would of but had to use it to fund my r26 F1 venture :)
The trophy served me well, Ring trip not long after I purchased her and countless trips across the country, was truly an epic car
Glad your enjoying it seanpeat309, there was a small tear nearly as you drove off but good to see it going to a good home and owned by someone who appreciates the hard work that's gone into that car.
Enjoy mate and I'll see you soon :)
Well it's sold folks, new owner is collecting this week. Not sure if he's a member on here but his friend tom is who also owns a trophy.
Both nice lads and will no doubt do it proud and keep it in great condition.
I'm now going down the megane f1 route as really fancy something boosted so I...
