100 bucks is bugger all mate, youll need atleast 1 pad, I would reccomend a chemical guys Hex logic Green, and use the Power finish you have, that combo usually works well for me on clios and gives a good finish too.
+ its there for you to make a few quid doing mates cars, and you will always...
Machine polishing a car takes a long time. Maybe its worth you using a filler polish like Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish by hand. Wont cover all marks but it will get the very light swirls. Seal it with a wax or sealant and youll be saving yourself a bit of time.
Yeah, I own both. i prefer the look of BOS and i find its more durable and easier to use.
How you finding that Aquartz stuff then, ive got 2 cars to apply it to next week and ive not used it before.
Well they were my previous choice, but ive since changed my mind as im sceptical about both the price and the tread pattern, and the brand. if PE2's are still about next month when i have spare cash ill buy some.
Unless it something silly like unweighted whees or wrong camber then who knows, take it into somewhere that has a hunter allignment machine and ask them to see what your camber is. A setup is usually around 80 quid for camber.
For god sake why the hell not?
How is PE3 a better tyre?
Thought PE2's were basically PS2's, IE, fairly soft and relativly slick. PS3's are worse than the PS2 iirc so surely PE3 will be worse.
Cooll cool. If they work better than renaults then im happy :)
Thanks for replys. Ill try my luck with brembo Standards and Mintex 1144's, if they are pap, then ill look into something esle, like having bigger wheels fitted, and new caliper mounts made up so i can run 197 brakes or something.
Same, been playing about with mine since janurary lol. Ive had the toe set up, but im running positive camber rarther than the 1.5 deg negative I crave for each time i drive it. My tyres feel like they are about to rip off ffs.
Some good reponses thanks, I won't be tracking the car, but on occasions I'm pretty heavy on the brakes especially on b roads, I'd like a set of brakes and pads that actually bite.
Did a search and apparantly they are good, no ds 2500 but still a good alternative. However another member in a recent thread has expressed that they might not actually be that good. I don't want to buy something that's dog poo.
Im not changing the rears, Set of brembos, as in the Standard brembos ive linked? Im trying to get hold of a set of hoses, buying some dot 4 fluid, and Mintex 1144 pads, as the only ferodo pads available for the 1.6 are ds3000's which i definately dont want.
I think they are "Uprated" as in they will perform better. Going to buy a front and rear brake line from Renault and send them off to goodridge so i can get a set of braided lines too.
The guy that deals with parts is an arsehole and i would rarther not speak to him. I have thought of this though, try to cross reference it etc, see what matches. Might go down actually and try my luck.
Have you ever tried to squeeze water from a house brick?

PS. 5mm was me being generous...
Pads are near enough ready for a change, id say no more than 5mm left. Discs are warped slightly and groved at the edges, and ive boiled the brake fluid. The brakes are pretty poor too, always have been, not great from cold really, and if im on a b-road blasting session they fade pretty badly...
Brembo offer standard ones, which im edging towards right now, http://www.bremboshop.co.uk/_p4137778.htm
They do that disc for the 1.6 MK3 clio and the Twingo GT, my Clio GT uses one of the two but i dont know which yet.
Motorsport world offer the DS 3000, Mintex 1144 and 1155.
I have the S1M Rotary, bought it after using the G220 for about 2 years. Huge amount of heat build up with a rotary especially when compounding. Its best you buy a scrap pannel, im all for using rotary over the DA as its far more capable, but you need to know what it can do, use a crap or cheap...
