This is what my itb's have given me :D
Got back on the rollers iv been on quite a lot, and the results came back at:
209 bhp @ 7,028 rpm
165 lb ft torque @ 6,229 rpm
Ignoring the 209bhp,take notice that with only a cat back exhaust the Clio has made a consistant 171-173bhp and...
Cheeky gits ;)
Yeah been in bed since Sat afternoon, off work today too, backs playing up, cant move grrrr
Anywhoo, Results are:
209 bhp @ 7,028 rpm
165 lb ft torque @ 6,229 rpm
Ignore the 209bhp, but take notice that with only a cat back exhaust the Clio has made a consistant...
Your right mate, if it was done and the standard bits were kept then id imagine the cost would be around what yours cost.
Though the good point about mine is if you wanted to return to standard its piss easy, as you well know once you have the noise of bodies there is no way your going back to...
Im not sure of the exact reason, but the NGK PFR6E10's are the plugs that Renaultsport recommend only for the F4R, im guessing something to do with temperature range and the way it delivers the spark, im sure fred will be able to give a better explanation lol
Edit: Ben posted as I did lol
When Paul mapped mine I was running Tesco 99, as I work next to a Tesco's so its convenient lol
Im guessing belt was stretched/timed wrong, the dip in power looks like they do when the timings out
Yes mate, though they are on 2 different rolling roads, this coming weekend im back on the first set of rollers so I will be able to accurately say how much its gained :)
Oh, this wasnt meant to be just about my itb's guys and girls, its more of a general idication of what itb's do, as we only tend to see power figures, which really do not show what a big difference they do make.
Im back on these rollers this coming weeked so il post the results up :)
The estiamation is exactly that matey, an estimation :) If you sold all your original kit, like inlets etc, and keep an eye out for good deals with the parts then you could do it for under 4 figures easliy - on the...
All depends really, Id say its do-able for under £1000 if done right, though it all depends on a lot of factors, from what itb's you buy, what inlet mani you choose etc
So it could be very cheap, or upto£1500 ish, though still cheap :)
No mate, that was the whole conversion, Im the first to make it work on standard ECU. (bear in mind that includes the money back for the bits I sold that I didnt need any more)
Fuel is more when driving hard, just as good, maybe even a little better, over 40mpg on a run
I see a lot of posts in threads asking what increase do itb's give.
So I thought id show this, and hopefully give an idea of what they actually do.
While they might not give a massive increase in bhp/torque at peak, the way they change the power delivery is like night and day:
The...
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
Good little write up mate, looks like the barrel is the problem, you must have made the connection better, bet it doesnt last though :(
Sounds like she is ready for another pasting then :D
After a lot of searching on here, I cant find anything other than suggestions of a custom rad.
Now this can cost a fair bit, so is there anything else anyone knows of that I can use?
I did hear there was a Polo rad available, anyone know from what year/model? As I can see what prices I could...
Yeah even with the Jenvey I had to spend a while doing dome shaping lol.
Though I believe the Jenvey comes as 45mm only so I had to take it out to match my 48's
