Well thought I'd give the car a clean today so got all the gear out and set up and powered up the jet wash. Always bleed it before turning it on (hold the trigger till theres a steady water flow). So I turned it on then all the sudden it made a noise and the pressure dropped and it started...
Cool, have you seen the cooksport springs? I fitted a set to someones sport yesterday and I'd say there on par handling wise with the eibachs and give a slightly lower stance.
Well no progress this weekend due to weather tbh, wishbones are at powder coaters and I'm watching a subframe on ebay that will also get the same treatment if I win it. Even though the weather was naff I still managed to lower another clio 172 on a set of cooksport springs, very impressed with...
I had them in anthracite, in a 15 too! The colour itself is cracking, loads of flake in it and when clean they do shine!
Howcome your going for 16's over 15's?
Nice car, powered by the same lump in the Zetec s diesel, Volvo s40, v50 etc.
We never had many problems whilst I was at Volvo, replaced one turbo (15min job). Enjoy it.
New pins for sure, I bought some modified ones off Megansport.net that are machined slightly smaller and use r clips to retain them and allegedly don't seize. I had to take an angle grinder to one of my old ones so if your not mechanical in any shape or form take it to a specialist.
Personally its one of those neat touchs I think, improves the line of the front bumper but if I start getting hassle it'll come off.
Its all down to personal preference
End of the day there illegal, must have been eagle eyes copper though!
I've ran one for about 4 years with no problems touch wood and people don't even notice it including the old bill.
Just a case of take it on the chin I guess.
Well just collected my lower arms from fred at BTM, dropped them in as I was in the area. He's kindly tacked the powerflex sleeves in place to prevent them from twisting and moving.
Going to drop them off with me friend at the weekend who is going to powder coat them for me.
Well this morning I got up and shot over to Wilenhall Autoworld Renault trade parts to grab me bits off Adam and pay up!
So I got: 2 x Inner track rods (drumsticks)
A set of steering rack mounts
5 litres of gearbox oil
5 litres of engine oil and a oil...
Well all the wishbones are prepped and ready for welding, heres a quick picture mock up of the bushes fitted.
Heres one showing the bushe pertruding
Depending on spare time tommorow I may get the service bits fitted and the fluids changed but we'll see but it'll be getting a clean.
Well tonight I thought I'd clean the arms up and fit the sleeves that powerflex provide (old style bushes) and get them ready for welding, as you can imagine there designed to be a interference fit but after taking a few measurements with a set of vernier calipers its was clear they would need...
I'm no photographer but those photos are great!
I must admit I live the canal, certainly miss riding down the toe path to work, especially first thing in the morning!
Yeah looks really good on the car, I like the tips. I'm stuck between the new Btm or a piper system.
I've brought a load of new products and a new dodo juice da6 so when the weather gets better its gonna get it big time! And a few little bits of paint. Small rs badge looks great too!
