The really new ones with under 10k miles are dog slow. A good mate of mine bought a brand new 1.2 16v extreme and it wouldnt even wheel spin. Flat to the floor in first and the rev counter just slowly climbed, it was rubbish. My 1.2 on the other hand will light up the front wheels in second.
I was under that impression too, but on watchdog it showed pictures of the phase 1 and phase 2 MK2 models. Im going to clean up my bonnet catch tommorow.
Good for you. I will keep my 50mpg and the fact my 1.2 is £1000 cheaper to insure a year than a 172. Same chassis so just as fun in the twisties. Im probably going to buy a 172 in July, but I will keep my 1.2 for abit aswell just in case the 172 isnt all its cracked up to be.
You can get a 1.2 SPORT in the MK2 ph1 shape, it had the 1.2 16v unit. This I believe is the only 1.2 sport, the post 2001 ph2 models came as: Authentique, Expression, Expression +, Dynamique etc
Reason why the 1.2 isnt returning good mpg on the motorway because at 90mph you are doing a billion revs.
Your cars probably worth £2200. Im not sure a 182 is the answer in terms of fuel economy, should sort the performance out though.
Whatever. All cars have limiters, stops you blowing it up.
Heres a vid I found on youtube of harry's old 1.4.
60 in second, and not shy either.

Think its gone up from £80 now, ring up the dvla office in bournemouth and then take all your documents there and they print the new tax disc, v5, MOT certificate while you wait. Thats what I did when I registered mine.

Mine are similar to these but its a darker grey and a darker blue, mine were in the sale though, hence a tenner. Theres no way I could justify £70 on mats...
I ve got no idea on the problem with the car im afraid, but I think the reason why you've had no replies is because your user name looks too much like lusty clio so people are just ignoring the post!
Was still there but the fuel light was on, its a nice neighbourhood but you would have thought you would hear a car ticking over on the drive, she was very lucky!
Well I did about 20 miles on the light so it was definatly empty, stuck a tenner in and set the trip as I always do, probably did 15 miles on the light and it was 117 miles on the trip, I dont tend to fill up until the lights on constantly. When I first got it though i have had as low as 70...
Im scared to open the bonnet on mine at the moment or touch anything as it seems really nippy and is returning such good mpg. Mind you I hadn't driven it for two days when I drove it earlier this evening, always makes it seem faster.
I think its a confidence thing. Im so used to my clio I can chuck it down a country lane and have alot of fun, I know its limits it feels nimble and it still easily gets to 3 figure license losing speeds. I just think you are missing the character and relationship you built up with GIMPO and you...
Dont do what a friend of mine did, she cleaned all the carpets and seats in her clio and then left the engine and heater running to dry it out and went inside for a cuppa. When she came out the house the next morning it was still running!
