probably not, im sure its a problem with the centre section, mine is on 6100 now and i havent experienced it, im not sure whether i should be happy or not?
tv tuner was an extra £200, and dont know about in the sun mate, but the quality is probably the best you can get, hence why the dvd and screen cost £1800.
i also want to fit some new speakers in the front, but dont want to fit an amp, can anyone recommend some decent ones? might pick some up when i am in chester tommorow, (another visit to Renault).
Cheers, Gaz.
the screen was £800, the navigation ( & dvd) unit is a bit steep at £1000. And Fred, i dont smoke so that takes that out of the equation, i say two days but i do a bit here and there then play on the computer for a bit etc. The actual wiring of the system is quite easy, its positioning and...
And finally almost got the dvd and navigation into the 172 :

Now, I just need to remove the dash to fit the speedo connection to the back of the dials, and replace the std cd changer with my own. Thatll be another day...
can anyone tell me how to remove the changer from under the 172 seat (mk2 if it makes any difference) as i need to put my own in there this week.
Cheers,
Gaz
The octane rating is a measure of a fuels resistance to knocking. Knock, also known as pinking, occurs during combustion when the fuel-air mixture explodes ahead of the flame front rather than burning smoothly, causing a knocking noise. Using a method established in 1929, petrol is rated on a...
i went for 32 in the front and 30 on the back in the end, acceleration seems easier and smoother, handling is more defined, funny how much difference it makes, its either that or my imagination.

According to the book one at 6,000 and one at 9,000, manager in work had the 6,000 not so long ago but am sure I have heard that they have stopped doing them now. Can someone who works for Renault confirm this? Also, when is the first service for a MK2 172? 12,000? and how far over can you go...
the car is kind of stuturing on idle and the exhaust sounds as if it is blowing (spitting). Is that normal? Also, the car seems to struggle sometimes to start, the ignitions are really dodgy and sometimes takes 2 or 3 goes to get it started!?!
Right, ive been working in London for the last four months and have had the vehicles documents sent away etc to have the private plate put on the car, all the docs are now back. So I want to send them off to Renault to get the warranty all sorted out. I know this has been done a million times...
yeah, I had my tracking done on my clio and it was lowered 60mm on 17"s, and there was sod all space between the arch and the tyre, the gauges fixed to the side of the wheel, done by Demon Tweaks.

The car is now on 5,300 miles and the exhaust system is blowing like a mad donkey. Are Renault going to sort it or going to fob me off? What exeperiences have you had with this?
ive never actually done it, but looked into doing it quite a while ago, and yes it is necessary to remove the front grill completely, youll encountered some screws under the car to my knowledge, and will also need to undo the inner wheel arch skirts to release the bumper.
they were 60mm spax springs, the wheels were offset ET37, and the rear spoiler was a Prima Racing Trophy for £175.00 inc vat i think. And yes, its my old car, I now have an Iceberg 172 MK2.
